Most Helpful Positive Review Great h2 buffer
I use this buffer to fix over gas AR pistol with 7.5 inch barrel and it work flawless. I was a bit worried when I place the order since there was not reviews but it works 100%. I have put few hundred rounds no issues at all. Recommended to everyone looking for a budget h2 buffer weight..
Most Helpful Negative Review **CORRECTION TO 1ST REVIEW** Dark Storm Industries H2 buffer
So I wrote this review a couple weeks ago. I received the buffer and wrote the review, after I popped the roll pin out low and behold there were 3 steel weights! NO TUNGSTEN! I was buying them strictly for the tungsten but after I realized it was all steel with a heavy carrier I just kept them as is...

Not a regular H2 buffer. Avoid for binary, FRT or full auto

by Stevo, Verified Owner from TX, United States Written on May 25, 2025
I purchased this buffer thinking I would receive the standard H2 buffer which typically has two tungsten weights and one steel weight. With this buffer the actual carrier is made out of steel to increase the weight and then it has three standard steel weights inside of it. After installing this buffer I started experiencing bolt bounce and light primer strikes when trying to use a forced reset trigger. The problem immediately went away when I swapped back to my conventional H2 buffer. For semi-automatic it function just fine and had a very similar ejection pattern to an H2 buffer. If you're in the market please spend the extra $5 and get an actual H2 buffer that comes with the tungsten weights a posted this one where corners were cut to save a little money and not use the right materials. Avoid this entirely if your goal for purchasing a heavier buffer includes reducing both bounce as this one functions even worse than the standard buffer when it comes to that.
Pros:
  • Cheaper than others
Cons:
  • No tungsten
Best Used for:
  • Semi-automatic only

Chinesium sub-par buffer

by Robert, Verified Owner from TX, United States Written on February 7, 2025
Started getting wear on the face from the spring after less than 100 rounds, so probably softer aluminum - not mil spec. They put oil inside because they use poor quality steel weights, which sticks the rubber spaces to the weights and makes it act like one big steel weight and so your deadblow dies. Buy once, cry once. Stay away from this buffer.

One of my go-to buffers

by Slonjo, Verified Owner from WI, United States Written on January 31, 2024
I have several of these running with the JP Enterprises Enhanced buffer spring. As we all know, many AR-15's come over-gassed from the factory to ensure they run with whatever people will put through them. I, for one, run only high-powered ammo so when I get one of these guns, I see my casings ejecting at 1-2:00. I have at least 3 carbines and rifles running this buffer to calm down the action and am completely satisfied with their application. I even have one in reserve.

Yes, I know, the true optimization is in the gas block and gas tube. I've done that too on my highest priority guns. Adjustable gas blocks and restricted gas tubes. But on my "let's just have fun" guns, I find the JP springs and this buffer most satisfactory.
Best Used for:
  • over-gassed guns

A15 buffer

by Hockeydad, Verified Owner from ID, United States Written on October 19, 2023
Sipped quick just as described. So I bought a ar15 pistol upper for one of my lowers and at the range shells were ejecting at about 2 o’clock and bolt would not lock back after last shot. Bought the h2 buffer and now shells eject about3-4 o’clock and bolt locks back after last shot everything perfect now.

well built

by Easystreet, Verified Owner from GA, United States Written on March 8, 2023
I cant complain. You would find it hard to get a better buffer for the price. It will definitely slow down the action. If you're looking to tame an affordable solution to an overgassed barrel give this a try.

Did the trick

by Happy shooter, from NY, United States Written on August 16, 2022
I was having an issue with a lot of felt recoil in my AR-15. Once I replaced the factory buffer with this H2 buffer the felt recoil was dramatically reduced and everything ran great. It was easy was quick and easy to install.
Pros:
  • Easy to install
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • AR-15 with a barrel shorter that 16 inches
