I wanted to share my disappointment with the lifespan of this device. Despite taking meticulous care, using it for only about three months a year, never dropping it, never leaving it exposed to the elements overnight it has failed after just four years. Considering I spent thousands of dollars on it, this is deeply frustrating.
To make matters worse, your only solution is for me to spend thousands more on a replacement. For a device that costs this much, lasting less time than a toaster or sandwich maker is simply unacceptable and quite telling about the product’s quality and your company reputation.
The only thing left for me to do is to be vocal about it, and prevent people to make the same mistake I made.

I live behind a large wild nature park where I take my 155 Lbs mastiff hiking, I go at night because he’s some what aggressive, being able to see at night is a great advantage, I can see people or animals at a good distance, the scout lll 320 is a force multiplier that kicks butt, I highly recommend it.

I have had first hand experience with several sub $2k thermal sights/monoculars and this one is OK but not on par with its competition. Clarity is adequate but not great. For the money you could do better.
Cons:
- Poor Clarity
- limited focus range
- mediocre image quality

The people complaining about these units didn't get the 640 model. It works great, long battery life and amazing clarity. ..saw whiskers on the foxes in the back yard. Really enjoying the FLIR 640. The Good Stuff is worth it...never regretted buying a Nightforce scope, ACOG optics or 3rd generation night scopes...this 640 unit is of the same category.

Not easy to spend as much as thermal units cost, but the FLIR Scout 320 unit works quite well. Very compact, easy to use (but a better explanation of some features would have been nice). Not quite the image resolution I had hoped for at distant ranges.
Fast shipping by Optics Planet!
Pros:
- Compact, light weight
- Fast startup

I had used some higher end thermal imaging products before. I was trying to pick something middle of the road price-wise and that's what this unit is. Resolution is fair. Anything beyond 1X loses resolution quickly. 4X not clear at all. Not worth the extra money to have it. Overall a decent unit. Wish I had a way to compare side by side with other handhelds before making the purchase. Ordering and customer service experience was good with OP.
