A well made alignment rod that I got for suppressing my AKs. I did not want to chance metal rods from McMasters.

Good price and quality product. Might be overkill to make sure suppressor is installed correctly, but give peace of mind. I'll use it every time I change a mount or something significant. Very reasonable price for a quality product.

This is an essential tool to prevent suppressor damage. Anytime you add on to the barrel like a suppressor the connection is the weakest point in the chain of events when shooting. I feel safer when using this alignment rod as it represents the bullet traveling down the barrel AND through the suppressor.
I recently checked my .22 barrel and suppressor after cleaning and it did not feel smooth when inserting the alignment rod. I disassembled my suppressor and found one of the baffles was not stacked up properly. It was minor but the rod detected the alignment problem. It speaks to you by feel and visually seeing that it’s concentric and there is enough clearance all the way around. In the above case it appeared concentric BUT it did not feel right when inserting the rod.
Better safe than sorry but we ALL have to make safety our number one concern.

Nothing special just a metal rod that’s straight and guaranteed to be straight. Is it worth $60+? Maybe if it was made out of pure silver. At the end of the day, most people won’t need an alignment rod, particularly if you buy a factory rifle and just add a muzzle device. If you built your rifle completely then yes, I’d recommend it since no factory is doing any precision checks for you. At the end of the day, I wish I hadn’t purchased it and won’t purchase another one. Alignment rods are pretty much a Reddit user thing, I learned my lesson.
Cons:
- price
- Application
- Gimmick

Griffin Armament not only makes awesome suppressors but they also have great accessories. I own three Griffin Suppressor Rods in three different diameters. They work great, are of great quality. Although I’d like to pay less, you get what you pay for and they’re far cheaper than having a misalignment failure.

The item confirmed that the alignment was correct and will be used every time I remove the suppressor.
