Excellent scope.I have always used Leupold optics and was in need for another for my 300wm. The VX6 was perfect. I love the Boone and Crockett reticle and the clarity of this scope. This is by far the best scope I have purchased in my 25 years of hunting.

Definitely one of the best scopes I have ever used. Swapped out my Vortex scopes for these, more money but the clarity in the details is there. Will pass down to the next generation and with Leupold warranty should last forever.

Leupold VX-6 is a great value where you truly get what you pay for. I shot my first elk with my 3-18x50 from 440 yards in the mountains of Montana. At full zoom the target was clear and crisp with no visible color fringing or softness in the lenses. Optical quality and functionality is outstanding and Leopold backs up their scopes with a lifetime warranty setting the mind at ease that your investment is covered. A rugged build with dials that function very crisp as you'd expect. The turrets are not unusually high and function quite well ergonomically. Additionally when you purchase a VX-6 with CDS (custom dial system) you get one free custom dial built to the ballistics of your rifle and ammo which is very helpful for long range shooting to avoid hold over. I loved my 3-18x50 so much I purchased a second. Best used with Leupolds Dual Dovetail bases and rings.
Pros:
- Warranty
- zoom
- Optical quality
Cons:
- matte surface scuffs easily

Very clear glass. Tracking is spot on. Love the fire Dot and windplex reticle. Love the zero stop feature. Build quality is outstanding. This is my second Vx6 scope. I have tried Nightforce and Trijicon Accupower. Lighter than the Nightforce, glass is about the same. Better clarity at higher magnification than the Trijicon. Love that scope. Would recommend to anyone.

This makes six Leupold scopes I have purchased in the past 41 years. I sighted this VX 6 in yesterday and installed it with a leupold mount. The clarity of this scope is exceptional and the sighting in process took 6 shots. I then shot at our 200 yard range and grouped in one inch groups. If this scope is like all the other Leupold scopes I have I should never have to sight the gun in again as long as I use the same ammunition. Thanks leupold for your great products.
Pros:
- Very wide crisp and accurate turret clicks
Cons:
- Now I'm going to have to buy another

This is going to contain mostly superlatives. I have to say this is the best scope I have used. It is bright, clear and has good contrast.
I am using mine for targets and it is well designed for that kind of thing. It is very sturdy and would be fine for field use also. I would recommend that you get the sunshade. I didn't order one with the scope, but I am going to have to get one. It really helps with glare for morning or afternoon situations.
Another piece of advice I would pass along is to make sure you can find acceptable mounts before you invest in the scope. I had to do some looking to find the right kind of rings for a 30mm scope.
Overall, I would definitely recommend it. It works very well and the Leupold warranty is always a plus.

Excellent Product! Excellent Service! Optics Planet sent the scope requiring a signature for security reasons and did not leave a package at the front door like other companies. The Leupold VX6 has exceptional clarity and the price was slightly lower than other companies!

Ordered my new scope from optics planet and it arrived shorty. Now a new VX-6 3 X 18 x 50 is not a cheap investment and the glass was bright and clear. The reticle was Boone & Crockett and not what i expected with lines being much thicker then i was expecting, like covering up a small target at 200 yards. I understand if your truly hunting big game this is probably the one for you, I wanted something a little more precision.
Called Optics Planet and no problem, printed out a return label and week later had the same scope with Varmint Reticle. Perfect.
I've been buying from Optics Planet for years now and their customer service always keeps me coming back for more.
Thank you.
Pros:
- Lighted reticle
- optics clarity
- Light weigth

This is a fantastic scope. The Boone and Crocket reticle is very handy to help in judging windage and elevation. Leopold will also send you for free a calculated elevation adjustment ring specifically for your caliber and bullet. The illuminated reticle is very helpful in low light conditions and has four different levels of brightness. The lens quality is very good. The variable telephoto from 3-18 is very helpful for all shooting distances. I would highly recommend this American made scope.

I paired the VX-6 with a recently purchased Remington 700 XCR in 300WSM. This is my second Leupold Fire Dot scope. I am shooting sub-inch groups at 200 yards, thanks to the added magnification and the precision offered by the fire dot. I anticipate ordering my CDS as soon as I finalize my bullet and load details for longer ranges. My only issue is that I seem to lose light capturing capacity in the higher magnifications and low light situations, but when I back down to 10x, I have no issues. Probably something to do with physics. I shouldn't be too troubled though, I am talking about the last minutes of a late hunt. I had no issues taking a deer at last light at 260 yards. One shot kill.
