Fancy but Lacking Power
Overall my experience with this rangefinder was a bit disappointing.
The bells and whistles all perform beautifully but the power factor is misleading.
Image stabilization worked wonderfully, cleaning up the image to help put the reticle where you want it.
ID Tech is solid and gives accurate ranges that compensate for angle.
Target Priority Mode is great for filtering through multiple targets or potential clutter.
But at the heart of it all is supposed to be a 3000yd ranging performance and that wasn't my experience (nor others from what I have read).
Nikon lists the performance of 3000yds on a "reflective" target which must mean a mirror because most buildings or painted steel targets did not count.
"Trees" are listed at 1100yds and "Deer" at 1000 which seemed to be right around the maximum range I was getting from painted steel targets.
As a hunting LRF this is great, because you get stabilization which is appreciated on a potentially moving target. It is a compact size and offers you the features you need to make an accurate shot on meat.
But when you put the max range of 3000yds and an attractive price, precision shooters are going to sniff the product out and as a long range/PRS tool this is lacking.

Best Range Finder Out There
For medium range price, I didn't find a better value. Don't consider getting one without Stabilization. The 6 power helps when you are looking greater than 100 yards. I t also has a feature that allows you to select the object closest yo you or the one farther in the targeted field. It also measures...

Stabilization is awesome, the ranging capabilities...not so much.
I'm fortunate enough to be able to compare both the Nikon Monarch 3000 Stabilized and a Sig Kilo 2200LRH side buy side after buying the Nikon.
The good:
1. Stabilization - It works!. This feature absolutely helps you find and keep focus on a target when looking out past 200 yards and well beyond ...

Good product.
This range finder is compact and feels rugged. Seems it will stand up to a decent amount roughing up. Being waterproof/water resistance adds to its durability. Target acquisition is excellent. I have only used it our to 500yds. The stabilization system works well and makes this an overall good product.
Pros:
- Stabilization system
Cons:
- Wish it was available with green read out and different shell color options.
Best Used for:
- Golf and any distance measuring
- Bow and Rifle hunting

Disappointing
As other reviews mentioned, stablization works and works well. You can feel a vibration from within the unit when the stablization kicks in and all the image tremors are instantly gone. However, for a rangefinder, the unit does not deliver. On a cloudy day in the mountains in west virginia, I tested the rangefinder against torso sized steel plates. At 300 yard, no issues, ranging was quick. At 500 yard, also no issues. At 800 yard and beyond, ranging became impossible, no readings ever came back. The unit is useless for my application, YMMV.

Excellent optic!
It is such an awesome pleasure to to use a stabilized rangefinder! This is very easy to use, the glass is wonderful and it makes for a fun day target shooting and hunting. Even the holster that it comes with is nice to use. This Rangefinder puts all the many other ones that I have used to shame. It is a wonderful product!

Service great but item overrated
Service from OPTICS Planet was very good, price as well
The item itself is for me completely overrated. We got 2 of the NIKON Monarch 3000 stabilized for PRS and tactical LR competitions. We thought a up to 3000yrd LRF should be able to read NATO sized targets out to 1500m.
Instead we have problems reading distances of buildings or part of buildings at 1000m during daylight.
The stabilization also is only for the optics you look through. The laser is still shaking and your measurement will go wrong.
I do not recommend the item for LR, PRS or any other tactical LR shooting.

nikon 3000 stabilized range finder
have not had it for long but here are a few observations thus far. at first power up unit was intermittent, found battery cover was not tight enough. tightening battery cover by hand was insufficient. did not want to use pliers on battery cover. I applied dielectric grease to threads of battery cover and this resolved the issue.
also noted, range finder and stabilization works fine, but when ranging objects in a busy field of view it would be nice if there was a quick and efficient way to select first object field of view or second object field of view. a second toggle button for this feature would greatly improve the ease of use of the range finder. the current configuration requires that you have to go into the menu and select the feature, this is cumbersome.
