So far I love it, shoots well with no issues. Just make sure to purchase the washers to place in between the device and barrel

I bought this brake due to it's promising compromise of features, plus the convenience of a pre-drilled hole for pinning and welding on a 14.5" barrel. This design quickly became a favorite. I've used a lot of good brakes, but they tend to be blasty and have large fireballs. This design largely avoids fireballs, and the concussion is much more mild to me than designs. Only a small one localized to the sides. Watching friends shoot it I didn't see fireballs like you usually get with muzzle brakes. I also appreciate the fact that the bottom is actually closed so it's less likely to throw up dirt and debris when prone or mounted on something. I've tried a lot of brakes, comps, and flash hiders and most are largely mediocre or interchangeable. I believe Precision Armament hit on a great idea with this unique design and it's become my go-to recommendation for AR's and other semi-auto rifles!
Pros:
- Craftsmanship
- Flash suppression
- reduce recoil and muzzle flip
Cons:
- Pricey
- Needs specific shims
Best Used for:
- AR-15
- semi auto
- 14.5 barrels

Title says it all. Sorry I spent the $. Minimal recoil reduction and shooter doesn't feel the increased side blast/noise, but we everyone else will hate you. The A2 standard compensator is still the best overall for the AR-15.

The Precision Armament AFAB created a significant improvement to my ability to keep my AR15 on-target (vs original A2 Flash suppressor), without the ultra-annoying 'explosion' effect caused by traditional muzzle brakes (including others from Precision Armament). This device is worth the price and very easy to install if you have the Precision Armament Accu-washer kit (https://www.opticsplanet.com/precision-armament-accu-washer-muzzle-device-alignment-system.html). The kit is handy as I've already used it to put the A2 on a RPRR that only had a thread protector.
Pros:
- Keeps you on target without annoying everyone else

This thing is amazing on my 14.5” and 16” barrels. It provides balanced performance in flash reduction, minimizing side concussion and braking. Be aware that the AFAB is not designed for sub 14.5” bbls in 5.56. I tried it on one of my 10.5” uppers but the pressures were just too high and it became very loud and blasty. No stars off for that because it’s clearly stated that this product isn’t designed for shorter bbls. Precision Armament’s other brake/FH in this category, the EFAB, IS designed for shorter bbls and does a fantastic job on all fronts. I love both the AFAB and EFAB. PA hit it out of the park.
Pros:
- Muzzle control, low side blast, A2+ flash suppression
Cons:
- No cons not clearly stated in price/description
Best Used for:
- 14.5+ bbls, teams, home defense, hunting, plinking
- 14.5 bbls, HD, teams, plinking

Mounted this on a 18" Mk12 profile barrel. Reduces recoil well, and actually is a flash hider as well. Concussion isn't really there at all. A brake that won't blow your hair off or shoot fireballs. This is my go-to for every AR in the future. I used the stainless shim kit to seat and time it, everything works great.
Pros:
- Good brake
- good flash hider
- No excessive smoke jetting
- Exceptional machining and finish

Seen this in a shootout test. Unless you want a full-on muzzle brake, this was the best compensator tested. Offered 49% recoil reduction, and only slightly more muzzle flash than an A2 flash hider. It is long enough to pin onto a 14.5" barrel and remain legal. Has a guide hole already. A bit heavy at 3.0 ounces. Precision Armament makes a newer model that is slightly prettier, and offers 1% better recoil reduction for 50% higher price. Will need to order the spacer kit. Cannot use crush washers. Spacer Kit is good for at least 4 uses. But it does add to the price if you don't have any spacers to fit already.
Pros:
- recoil reduction, low flash.

This product was very nice. Easy to install and works as described. The washers make it easy to adjust but make sure they are fastened securely. Shipping case in fast and was packaged well. I wish the washer was black since my AR and the muzzle brake are black.

Solid build, feels durable and looks great. In my opinion, this is the best all around brake. Small and lite weight package reduces felt recoil by half, compared to a bird cage flash hider. It does not come with washer/shim, so you would need to purchase them separately.
Pros:
- Small & lite weight
- best all around muzzle device
Cons:
- Little pricey but worth it
- No crush washer/shim

The AFAB is amazing! Everything the description says, is true. Recoil is definitely reduced compared to your normal A2 birdcage. The concussion is very mild and flash is basically non existent. This isn’t like your average brake with terrible blast and concussion. It works very well on my 16” midlength.
