Most Helpful Positive Review Hard to beat for the price.
I bought this along with the SGM Tactical G19 threaded barrel as a cheap solution to evaluate using a comp on my Vickers G19. As far as it's effectiveness as a comp I was happily surprised at the reduction of nose climb and felt recoil. It absolutely works and brought my mag dumps from 4" at 7 yards...

Most Helpful Negative Review Set screws are trash
Followed installation instructions. Threaded compensator until it was as tight as possible while being level with the slide. Applied red Loctite to set screws. The set screws strip out before you can get them tight enough on the barrel to prevent a compensator from coming loose. I tighten both screw...

Middle of the road

by Wasted Youth, Verified Owner from FL, United States Written on January 12, 2020
Good looking and lightweight but only a middle of the road effective compensator for Glock 17 slide (Reduces muzzle rise and some recoil). Actually about 75% as effective as compared to a Lone Wolf compensator/ muzzle brake (code: 59-BCM-UASG14-LWD-COMP) which is $25.00 cheaper. The PM comp requires semi- permanent installation (red Loctite), but it is initially more reliable with standard recoil spring. The Lone Wolf comp requires a lot more tuning (lighter recoil spring, hotter ammo and polishing of both barrel lockup surfaces and barrel ramp) as the side ports are angled backwards and apparently bleeds off significantly more gasses and reduces recoil more than the PM style of comp. Hotter ammo makes the gun shoot flatter and improves the reliability (FTF and stove pipe occurrences) but also increases the felt recoil. Also, I was able to use BSI Un-Clure debonder instead of heat in order to remove the PM comp as my front suppressor sight had loosened. For EDC and self defense use, I would not recommend a compensator on a 9MM hand gun due to reliability issues.
Pros:
  • Lightweight
  • nice fit
  • Will work with OEM recoil springs
Cons:
  • Semi Permanent Installation
Best Used for:
  • Range use
Would recommend: Yes
