ProMag AAQBD An Engineering Marvel
The ProMag Archangel Quick Breakdown is a well built well engineered marvel. The people at ProMag deserve an award for thinking out outside the box with this innovative 10/22 stock. To be able to turn any old Ruger 10/22 into a 10/22 breakdown is genius. I do not own a factory Ruger Takedown but I ...

Good design, poor QC/tolerances
Out of the box, the folding action is very tight. I attribute it to needing break in. I put in some grease and practiced the folding action while watching TV. Took some time but it did loosen it up. When the time came that I put in the 10/22 receiver, it wouldn't fit. there was a quarter inch g...

Archangel Stock is Great
This Archangel stock was easy to install and performs as advertised. I will pack my Ruger 10/22 and carry it many miles this year following my hounds.

Archangel stock
this stock is Great, but you will have to do some finish fit work, my magazines would not release until I used a round file to relieve some of tension the stock was putting on the
receiver. I also put a small piece of foam on the forearm to keep the barrel from rattling. I trimmed plastic and rubber in numerous places. The stock locks up solid and the
and the wedge barrel system returns to zero.

AAQBD is great for 10/22
I gave this stock a 4/5 because of the latch on the buttstock is difficult to open. I’m hoping it will loosen up a bit with use. Great little spot to keep a bore snake and other small pieces you might need. Easy to convert. Easy to assemble and packs away nicely. Zero issues with sight retention.
Pros:
- Great for backpack
Cons:
- Door difficult to open
Would recommend: Yes
This is revolutionary
People who are new to the gun community would see this and pass this up, I use it for my Ruger and it was the best decision I’ve made. Inserting the trigger pack was a tight fit so be prepared to use some force to get it to fit properly. Finding the correct torque is necessary. Use the dial to get the right amount of tension, and make sure when the barrel is in place pick the gun up by the barrel just to double check it secured properly. Never misfired once have put 1400 rounds since purchase. 10-15 years down the road if this breaks I’ll be back for another. Makes range day so easy able to be thrown in a backpack was the winner for me.
Pros:
- dont be cheap just buy it
Cons:
- None
Best Used for:
- plinking
- Target shooting
Would recommend: Yes
Bag/Backpack quick assembly
It's good for backpackers if you want to also hunt. I don't have to carry a rifle bag anymore. I can carry this in my backpack. With a sight and attachments. It's so nice and portable. The price is right and I think they should make the stock storage a little bigger and put a hook so I can use it with Straps.
Pros:
- Easy to install
- Portable
- quick to install
- Backpack carry
Cons:
- None
Best Used for:
- hunting
- survival
- Backpacking

ProMag Archangel Quick Break-Down Stock for Standard Ruger 10/22 Rifles is a great product
ProMag Archangel Quick Break-Down Stock for Standard Ruger 10/22 Rifles is a great product. It met att expectations. Ordering from optics planet though is a disaster. This was my second purchase from them and went better than the first, but not by much. I'll really try and remember to not but from them in the future.

Nice stock
This stock arrived Jan 2021. It went together quite easily. Make sure you watch the Promag video on installation before you do anything. I had a little difficulty getting my barrel out of the rifle the first time I tried to remove the barrel prior to installation. I watched the video and it gave a good tip about using a hair dryer or a heat gun on the receiver and another tip on rocking the barrel out. It took an extra 10 minutes to find Wifey's hair dryer and heat up the receiver, but it came out fairly quickly after applying the two manufacturer's tips. Once I had the barrel out installation into the new stock only took a few minutes. The included instructions were easy to follow and not at all complicated.
The stock is almost everything that Promag says it is with one exception. The storage area under the butt plate. You are required to press two tabs inward to get it open. The tabs are so stiff that I could not get them to open the butt plate. I was frustrated for about 20 minutes trying to open the butt plate until I figured out how to use a small C-clamp and a 1/4 inch nut on the opposite side to press the tabs in and finally open the butt plate. It wasn't worth the effort and frustration. Their advertisement shows a couple of ear plugs and some fish hooks going into the storage area and I agree that they will fit, so I guess that is truth in advertising. I had planned to put a 22 caliber bore snake in it but I could not cram it in, as it would not fit. You might ...

Great Idea - Poor Execution
I ordered this product and it would not fully seat the receiver in new chassis. Contacted the manufacture and they said it was likely a defective stock that slipped pass their QC. Reordered the product and got the same result. Its a great concept, but fails to live up to the promised compatibility.
And the return process was a total nightmare... Optics Planet cannot field calls, takes at least 3 days to get a response to emails and 3 weeks to accept returns. I can be sympathetic to the impacts of the pandemic... but these guys haven't been able to figure out how to adjust in 6 months? I have higher customer experience expectations than this and looked to other merchants for future purchases.

Well designed, quality upgrade for ruger 10/22
I think this is a great addition to Ruger 10/22. Works great with factory barrels and bull barrels. Easy to take down and reassemble.
Only complaint is barrel lock being too tight on my stock so I have to use some kind of leverage to take down, like a key or a knife.
Well made, sturdy and affordable product. Highly recommended.

QBD for the 10/22
Easy to install making a neat little package. The storage area is difficult to open but that should get better. Barrel clamping adjustment is sensitive but it too will probably break in with use. A lot more plusses than minusses. Looking for a bag.
