i was iffy at first
so the Romeo XDR is a great red dot, (or in my case green dot), but I'm going to be honest, i sat on the fence for a good month before I finally decided and got it, and the only real reason it did beat out it's competitors was probably the fact that SIG won that new big army contract and had an epic...

Mr. Duarte
I purchased this optic and right out of the box. It did not work. I have a feeling y’all knew it did not work and passed it on to the consumer seeing that it was used and y’all don’t do returns or exchanges on these items very displeased.

Very good optic for the money
I do like that the battery life is north of 40k hours. I do like the reticle, but there are some distracting visual artifacts in some lighting conditions. There are four reticles to choose from which is very cool, especially at the price point. The emitter creates a halo effect at certain brightness levels and there's a strange reflection in the glass that I find to be somewhat distracting. I would recommend this optic to those that are Predator movie franchise fans and those that prefer green dot sights.
Pros:
- Price
- Lightweight
- cool factor
- Sigsauer Quality
- Readily available, inexpensive batteries
Cons:
- strange reflection
- glare at high brightness levels
Best Used for:
- Range use
- low/high lighting conditions

More reticle options, instant on & practical battery option.
Comes on the last setting it timed out on making it at the ready the instant its grabbed. The green reticle is so much faster to pick up than red. It has a dot, underscored dot, triangle, big broken corner triangle & dot within a triangle reticle option for setting. The extra reticle content makes finding the center easier through the smaller than the usual tube size that you can see with both eyes before winking one out. I didn't experience any parallex mounting it at the barrel nut junction as it would typically have a companion device behind it giving magi fixation/night vision (not included). So glad I got the green reticle version.
Pros:
- Several reticle options & instant on
Cons:
- Small tube
Best Used for:
- hunting

Sig Sauer Romeo 5 Predators edition
I'm totally new to the rifle world, and still fou d it very easy to set up, and zero. Retinal is much better than the traditional dot. I love the green reticle. Price was right, and received it in no ti.e at all.

Defective - Shows Only One Line of Triangle
First Sig Sauer Optic and Very Disappointing. After a lengthy search, I settled on this for my S&W FPC rifle. It is compact, lightweight, built in riser, AAA operated and most importantly had a nice reticle, dot in triangle... very unique. I thought Sig Sauer was a reputable brand; but more than a few sales people and other pros told me Sig has mediocre optics. I wished I would have listened because the sight did not work out of the box. I replaced the battery and over tightened the cap, then the green dot came on, but no Triangle. After some time only the bottom line of the triangle displays, but not the other lines. And even that line is tilted and crooked. Seems like a badly manufactured, low quality product.
I have 6 Burris scopes, 2 Hawke, 1 Osprey, 1 Vector and 2 Leupolds; all of them worked the first time an every time. I thought this one would as well. Wrong. Will contact Optics Planet and Sig Sauer to see how I can remedy this bad excuse of a scope. But being its a 'final sale', wouldn't be surprised if I am stuck with this junk. Never again Sig Sour.

Xenomorphs beware
While searching for a tube style red dot I stumbled across this masterpiece. Seeing as there aren’t many reticle options this was refreshing to see. The Predator is one of my favorite movies so to be able to have that style reticle in such a quality scope was awesome to find. Super clear picture with some pretty trick options for the reticle. Came almost perfectly zeroed from the factory. I added the optional riser plate to make it the height I like. Having that option was pretty nifty. Absolutely recommend it. Also, the rubber dust cover that comes with it mounts flush, I’ve never seen anything like it. It’s so sleek.
Pros:
- Everything
Cons:
- Honestly, nothing
Best Used for:
- 3 gun, range, target, cqb/cqc, plinking, small game

Green Predator model is awesome!
This sight picture is excellent. Has three separate configurations. The triangle mode is just like the movie Predator and that's where it gets it's model name from. I really like this and not cause of the movie novelty, I really like it! Green is good for these older eyes. Shake awake and auto turn off. Get one before they're gone. I heard they may be discontinuing this model.

Great value for the Sig Romeo Red/Green Dot optic.
Basically, I have 2 of these models. The Sig Sauer Romeo series red and green dots are a great bank for your buck. I highly recommend them for their price value and performance. They look awesome on any rifle build. These Paired with the Sig Sauer Juliet Magnifiers, these red dot optic systems are actually of decent quality. Mounting system is simple and sturdy. Seems to hold zero. The red and green dots itself are pretty crisp in clarity and has multiple brightness settings It's also NVG compatible. Takes AAA batteries. Overall they are good optics for the money.
Pros:
- Budget friendly and reliable.
Cons:
- None
Best Used for:
- Target shooting, hunting, home defense

Sig ROMEO5XDR
So far, a great optic for the price. Optic's Planet had the best price I could find on this. This is the green dot version, first time out was a very bright sunny day, and I had no trouble at all with the brightness levels this optic offers. Right out of the box it was only four inches off at 45 yards and super easy to zero in from there. This Predator model offers four different dot options, single dot, dot with a short line underneath, dot in a triangle, and just a triangle. Comes with a nice fitted dust cover and is very well constructed.
Best Used for:
- Rifles, carbines
