billet receiver
I have this receiver for an AR target rig setup using a Bruce Finnegan barrel and a Battle Arms enhanced bolt carrier group.
I could not be happier with the attention to detail that this receiver has. Absolutely no sharp edges near bear surfaces, looks like a interior coating for the bolt to ride, and with my particular barrel the install did require a little heat from a heatgun for proper seating which is excellent for the purpose of my rifle. Makes things very snug right where it needs to be!!! Outstanding choice for a precision oriented build!!!

The upper they sent me is NOT the same
The upper reciever i ordered was the one SHOWN IN THE PICTURE . They sent me the WRONG one . I got the version with all the ugly dimples on the opposite side of the dust cover . They NEED TO UPDATE THE PICTURE very disappointed. If that was the case i could have gotten the same upper for cheaper on wingtactical.com if i wanted THAT SPECIFIC ONE . But I purposely bought it from here because it was the one without the dimples

I'd recommend this product to others for their builds but not for my intended purpose
I purchased this upper because of another review and having read elsewhere that the inside diameter for the barrel is undersized compared to mil spec requiring the use of a heat gun to fit the barrel. (similar to what JP calls thermofitting). Ideally I wanted a JP15 upper, but only the JP CTR02 upper ever seems available, and the CTR02 doesn't include basic features such as the ability to install a dust cover. Having read that this comes with an undersized ID for the barrel extension and required heat to fit the barrel I was expecting an upper similar to the JP15. I was disappointed to get this and find out that the ID is just plain old mil-spec. When I noticed my barrel fit right in with a little slop just like with other regular uppers, I checked it with my calipers, and sure enough, it measures right dead in the middle of the tolerance range for mil spec.

Spikes Billet Upper Receiver
Got this upper to put on my Spikes no-logo lower. It fit perfectly, as you would expect and looks really nice, with the unique cuts. The only thing I really dont care for is the giant SPIKES TACTICAL on the left side of the receiver.

Pure awesomeness.
I wanted something unique and perfect. I used to not like spikes but this billet upper and lower I also have changed my mind. Legit! It mates well with my spikes lower duh. My ar pistol feels like a toy it's like 5 lbs lighter than my ar10 pistol.

Defected item
I brought this upper for a build and was ready to put it together, until I noticed that the upper was missing the barrel pin slot that is suppose to be in the treads of the upper. Therefore I can’t put my barrel on this upper because of missing slot for barrel pin grove. Can you please help me with this problem. I really want this upper for my build.
