Most Helpful Positive Review Detailed review
Folks, A word of caution for a very specific situation: I own multiple streamlight and Surefire products and am a military user of remote switches on handguns/long-guns. I'm not an expert but I have more experience than many. My Glock contour remote switch has a touchy electrical connection on th...

Most Helpful Negative Review Defective product - Streamlight no help
Works well with light or laser only. When the light+laser toggle is on, it activates only the light. Sent it back to Streamlight for servicing. No one ever contacted me to diagnose the problem and it was simply returned with a note stating "No manufacturer's defect found." There is a defect, but bec...

Glock remote switch

by CP, Verified Owner from AL, United States Written on November 30, 2023
Very easy to attach to the weapon light. It replaces the old manual switch cover on the rear of the light. Will take some getting used to while shooting as it changes the pressure you are applying with your fingers, but it makes using the light a whole lot easier and more intuitive. Less thinking about manipulating the little paddle switch. Mine is attached to a light with no laser so I can't speak to that.
Pros:
  • Easy to install
  • Easier to use the light
Cons:
  • Changes your grip pressure when not using the light

Works great!

by Djg12, from NY, United States Written on January 26, 2020
This is the contoured remote for Glock handguns, 69300 part number. It allows momentary activation of the stream light TLR-2HL on whatever mode you have the light’s selector switch on, light, laser or both and then when you squeeze pressure to the handgun grip it will turn the light on without having to take a finger off your grip to turn the light on or off. However for constant on activation you need to use the main switch on the light. This was easy to install and comes with a different battery door (all one piece) to put on the weapon light.
Pros:
  • Fits nice!
Cons:
  • None

Streamlight Contour Remote Switch

by Nanobanano, from OH, United States Written on September 7, 2019
Great product. Only draw back was having to modify holster for fit with dremel tool. The pistol fit in holster with switch but was so tight it requires two hands to draw from holster. Product itself was excellent.

Great accessory

by John, Verified Owner from CA, United States Written on May 19, 2018
Great addition for those with stubby fingers and can’t easily use the light switch. The switch fit perfect on glock 19. It was easy to put on the light and mount. The light it self is very bright. The switch had a strobe feature or hold down the button for steady light.
Pros:
  • Great Fit
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • Glock 19

Streamlight Contour Remote Switch

by Donny, Verified Owner from SC, United States Written on March 9, 2017
DON'T BUY THIS! Well, that seems harsh. But my experience is the switch went on perfectly. Fit is great! But when gripping the butt, the light would not come on. I had to take the very tip of my finger and press really hard to get it to come on. It was so hard to press and I don't think it was a defect! Returned. Hope this helps somebody. Would have been awesome if the button would press easily.

A Must have for LEO's!!

by CPTZeus, from OK, United States Written on July 31, 2016
If you have a weapon light and you don't have this switch, you are wrong. It easy to use and you will never have to break your grip or use your primary safety again! You will have train yourself not to accidently engage the light during your draw stroke, but all in all a must have for LEO's

Great, some QC issues but streamlight will replace defective units.

by Jason Knoke, Verified Owner from MI, United States Written on January 21, 2015
I bought this product over a year ago for use with my full size M&P 45 with a Streamlight TLR1 HL. The first one that was sent to me had a faulty switch. I would carry it in my duty holster and test it out every so often and found that it would only work about 75% of the time. I emailed Streamlight, removed the remote switch and used the paddles on the TLR1 HL and forgot about the situation for about a year.

I recently found the remote switch in a box and decided to finally send it to Streamlight for servicing. I was a little annoyed that I had to pay for shipping, but oh well. Streamlight quickly sent me a new unit, which works flawlessly. I wear my handgun almost daily and have been to the range with it, and there have been no issues since the defective unit was replaced.

My only con, besides the defect, is that the button is right where my right middle finger sits, making it easy to inadvertently turn on the light. I found that in quick draw drills I would activate my light every time. The TLR 1 HL actually lit up the target during the day, which was not intended, but it did make hip shooting at close range little easier.

I also have the Crimson Trace Lightguard, which has a more dim and less concentrated beam and therefore not suited for some purposes (great for concealed carry, poor for duty gear), however, the button on it rests lower on the handle (still under my middle finger but more toward my ring finger). This makes it so that I am less likely to unintentionally...

Pros:
  • Easy to operate
  • Great customer support from Streamlight
Cons:
  • Button may be too easy to operate
  • Look out for defective units
  • TLR system is bulky for concealed carry
Best Used for:
  • Police or Security Officers
  • Open Carry (if you're into that sort of thing)
  • Night shooting beyond 10 yards

This switch is a 100% improvement update for TLR-2

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner Written on March 29, 2013
2 years ago, I bought the TLR2 for my home defense gun...A Glock 21 (full sized .45 auto). The bright light, choice of laser only/light only/ both laser and light, and batteries that won't run down on you in a matter of months (my original batteries are still strong as ever), makes the TLR a fantastic choice. And while the middle lever was an improvement over those "toy tactiCOOL" laser setups where you are supposed to react fast in an emergency and push "pin head sized" buttons....The TLR STILL required that when needed, you had to grab your gun, aim with one hand, throw the lever & hold it down with your support hand, watch for the light, engage your support hand in a double handed hold if you shoot with 2 hands, and watch the threat when preparing to fire!!! This light/laser combo was great already but this switch really is a modernizing upgrade! No more extra time wasting gyrations. With this switch, you can now employ your TLR & handgun at the same time, using one hand if necessary. Crimson Trace for some time lead the market in the REAL tactical laser market due to the quick, practical, "one hand employment products," and now Streamlight is doing it also. And for almost the same money, you get the laser and the light. I have never seen this switch sold in gun stores, so my only concern was whether it would fit my .45, as the ad listed 3 weeks ago, said it fits the Glock 19, which is a 9mm. Well, it fits perfectly, and will likely fit any of the standard sized glocks. I...
