Decent secondary protection
Not quite enough protection to use as primary ear protection. Good as backup under muffs.

For Sensorry Issues
We bought a pair for our daughter who struggles with sensory overload in crowds. She can safely wear these and not miss out on outings and gatherings. She is able to wear them and most people do not notice.

Great Hearing Protection
I think I have thee sets of these. When I'm shooting a shot gun they let me get my cheek weld low with out interfering like like ear muffs would. I use them in conjunction with ear muffs when shooting pistols. They really help cutting down the percussion if someone is shooting in the lane beside of you.

Always work great
Used these in the us army. Works great but keep your ears clean or they are uncomfortable because of wax build up. Clean the insert portions every night they last longer. I bought a military police reserve unit a case of them and they all thanked me when they rotated home

Very handy
Small size handy for reducing noise. I wear them in a high noise environment and they work quite well. With the 2 different db levels you can do with or without the cap plugs, it helps talking to other people in a loud area.

EP 3 Sonic Defender
Bought these after they were recommended by a friend and they exceeded expectations. Two things that make these the best earplugs I've used: 1. You can unseal them from your ear canal and they stay in place, allowing you to speak and hear normally during breaks w/o needing to put them in your pocket or on a cord. 2. They fit comfortably under ear muffs for indoor shooting. Surefire's website shows you how to measure your ear to pick a size. The EP4's are for larger ear canals and EP3's are for normal. EP3's work great for me. Pros: comfotable, variable protection

Works like they're supposed to.
The EP3 Sonic Defender is a very unobtrusive earpiece... does the job... can barely feel them. But can sure hear that they're in... or can't hear that they're in. I would consider these for use where loud sound protection is important, but you still want/need to hear lesser sounds. At the range, It takes the loud report of a firearm to a safer level, but I can still carry on a conversation.

Surefire Earpieces
I am big 6 foot 3 person but have small rabbit like ear canels. Hearing protectors hurt my ears after just a few minutes. I tried Surefire small size protectors and have at last found product that fits both my ears and my needs. Highly recommend.

Big improvement over foam plugs
These plugs are much easier and faster to insert in your ear canal compared to having to twist the old fashioned foam plugs and then cramming them into your ear. These work great in conjunction with my electronic ear muffs. I also find the soft materials used more comfortable than the foam plugs that create an outward pressure.
Surefire recommends that you replace them at least every 6 months, but I haven't had any problems using whatever pair I find in my bag at the time.
