Most Helpful Positive Review Trijicon in Seekins rings
I put this on my coyote gun. The 56 mm objective is really bright at dusk and dawn. I mounted it in Seekins high rings on an AR. There is about an eighth inch clearance between the objective end and the rail. I like the moa crosshair reticle. The illumination range is good, not overwhelming at ni...

Good economical choice

by rambie, Verified Owner from FL, United States Written on July 22, 2020
Mounted on AR in 7.62x39 with aero precision 2x forward mount. Taken several deer with it out to 200 yds, mostly around 100 yds. It works well at dusk/dawn in planted pine, which of course is a rather low light situation. At 2 lbs, it's really only a treestand scope, not really practical for offhand shooting without support.

I have managed to drop the rifle (knot slipped) from about 20-25 ft. happily no damage and it held it's zero just fine.
Glass quality is good.

The reticle is not daylight bright, which I was initially concerned about, but proved in practice to not be any big deal. I leave the dot on all the time while hunting, so if the animal goes across the break in the trees to the less well lighted creek bed, the black crosshairs pick it up in the lighted area and the green dot takes over in the dark areas and I don't skip a beat.

I opted for the green mil dot after being a MOA person and now prefer mil dot as well as green color. The dots allow quick offhand bullet drop compensation while shooting subsonic rounds.

The only real downside besides weight is no automatic power off. At mid-way on the scale, the battery will only last a couple weeks if you forget to turn it off. I duct tape a spare cr2032 to an out of the way location on the rifle in case I find out after I am in the stand. (Battery compartment opens with a coin.) To be clear, you can hunt just fine without the battery, no different than any other comparable non-illuminated scope. If you turn off when...

Better than a $3,000 V8 Victory Zeiss?

by El Segundo, Verified Owner from CA, United States Written on December 14, 2019
I really like my Zeiss Victory V8 1.8-14x50 but if I had to introduce a dollar valuation my choice would be the Trijicon AccuPower 2.5-10x56mm. The Trijicon just seems to have great DNA, it comes up to my line of sight, squeeze the trigger and it hits the target. The Zeiss has better glass and the 36mm tube lets the light in but the Trijicon just has a warmer feel to it.
Pros:
  • perfect asthetics when shouldered for the shot.
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • hitting what ever you aim at

Its my first trijicon. Awesome clarity and great in low light like the illuminated reticle... the ability to go from daylight bright to just barely on made it great for lowlight shots when you don't want the crosshairs too bright.

  • Clear
Cons:
  • non

AccuPower 2.5-10x56 Riflescope- Deflinite Keeper

by rambie, Verified Owner from FL, United States Written on August 30, 2018
Used last year (2017) for deer hunting with my AR. I really grew to appreciate it. It did get dropped from the tree stand from about 20' and survived ok. (I don't think it landed on the scope, but I didn't see it fall).

I see deer clearly in very low light in (murky) mature planted pines and the illumination is adequate to go from near darkness to mid-morning. Illumination is no longer effective in daylight, but it's not a problem as the reticle takes over. I leave the illumination on the entire hunt so if the animal goes from bright light to a dark area, the illumination will take over.

Let me put this to rest... I used to think illumination HAD to be daylight bright. This scope proved to me that's really not needed.

Downsides
1) No auto-on/off -- I've forgotten to turn it off and following weekend had a dead battery. I now store a spare 2032 battery in the grip handle and check it before leaving home (it will last for 4-6 days easy).
2) No auto-brightness. I have it real dim at dawn and have to remember to manually increase the illumination as it gets brighter. It's not that huge a deal, since the reticle is pretty good, even in low light. It's never been "too" bright.
3) Around 23 oz, so it's a little heavy.

Upsides:
1) Excellent optic quality for the price. Very pleased. Perfect for tree stand use.
2) Quick off: In between each numeric value is a "-", this allows you to turn illumination off by rotating the illumination one click instead of back to zero, somethin...
