Excellent scope for the money
I was able to purchase the Vortex Diamondback HP 2-8 BDC from Optics Planet at an excellent price with free shipping. The package arrived promptly at my door in a large box with packaging bubbles that protected the actual box. The overall quality of the scope is excellent and I was glad that it came with a scope bikini cover. I was able to easily mount the scope on my 16" barrel AR with an Aero Precision mount and I was surprised by the balance of my rifle with the scope. I also found the scope to be aesthetically pleasing on my AR even though it is about an inch longer than my old 1-4 x 2...

Great Scope!
I purchased this scope and mounted it on my Marlin 336 .30-30. Great quality, clear glass, parallax adjustment, excellent eye relief. I have no complaints about the scope. Vortex makes a great quality scope, and you can't beat the price for what you get. Buy this one with confidence.

Coyote scope
I bought this scope for an AR-15 that is set up for coyote hunting. I am very happy with this scope. It has good eye relief, plenty of light and the side focus is a nice feature at this price point. The 2x-8x is great for coyotes. I never want to be over magnified on the low end. Even with only 8x I was shooting .75 MOA, plenty good enough for coyotes.

Great low power scope
Using this for my 44 mag lever gun for deer hunting, and it has worked well. Clear glass with nice definite clicks for adjustments. The magnification adjustment ring is smooth and easy to move, and the eye relief is not critical. Only weird thing is the side parallax adjustment as this is a low power scope, so this feature seems unnecessary.
Pros:
- Clear
- Good Quailty
Cons:
- None
Best Used for:
- hunting

Clear and accurate
Clear and accurate scope good to use from 25-200 yds no problem. The BDC reticle is useful to compensate for different weight bullets. I mounted this on an ar15 with standard picatinney scope rings and have no problem with the eye relief or grabbing the charging handle. This scope looks good on the gun. At the range, people come over too get a closer look and ask about it, not something I'm used too.
Pros:
- accurate,holds zero,crisp clear image
- Paralax adjustment
- Clarity/brightness is outstanding
- Looks well made
- adjustments work well
- eye relief at low mag
- color Matt black matches upper
Cons:
- None

Great Scope
This is a very nice optic. and the price is within reach of many serious shooters. The glass is clear and images are crisp. Adjustment is simple and shooting is a pleasure. Personally I believe all things considered this scope is very definitely a top tier glass . Workmanship and quality control appear to be top of the line and the price is more than fair for such quality. Get one the next time you need a scope. I am sure you will not be disappointed.
Pros:
- Quality
- Ease of Adjustment
- Value for the price
Cons:
- none noted
Best Used for:
- any shooting activity

Bought one, liked it, and bought a second one.
My first scope was purchased for my 218 Bee. As I took it to the range I was impressed with the clarity of the view and positive operation of the turrets. I love the side adjustable parallax and after having it, I would not want a scope without that feature. I have a number of scopes where you adjust the parallax by turning the objective lens, but this side turret is so much better. This first scope is a standard reticle scope.
The second scope I purchased was for my 222 Rem which I can reach out a little further than the Bee. On this one I ordered the Vortex Dead-Hold BDC reticle, it came in 3 days, (I couldn't get the 2 day shipping to work with either). I mounted it up, positioned it for eye relief, and leveled it, and tightened it down. Prior to going to the range I went to the Vortex web site, went to Ammunition, at the bottom of the drop down clicked LRBC. This gives you the ranges that you will be dead on at the marks on the scope based on your caliber and load. There is also a formula for estimating distance using the wind drift side hash marks. At the range the sighting in was easy and positive, the turrets work nicely with no banging on the scope to get reticle movement. I sighted in dead on at 100 yards, first mark 227, second mark 350, and that all you could ever expect from a 222. There were further out marks, but hey like I said this is a 222.
As you can see I'm very happy with both these scopes.

Nice scope for the money
Good clear glass for the money. It fit nicely on my AR. I would buy another one like it if I need one in the future. It seems to be rugged and well built and looks good too. I really like their warranty.

2-8 close, mid range, and far
Good price for the glass. I had some eye relief issues in getting the scope in just the right spot. Once I got it there and locked in it was perfect. Good scope for a mid range Ar-15. The 2 power offers low magnification for close up stuff. Big fan of Vortex. The scope should be about all you need for a sniper style ar system. Good bang for the buck.
