Bought this a while ago and just now getting to this. What can I say, its a Vortex LPVO and it does what its supposed to. Didn't have to adjust much to zero, pretty much out the bod and on the rifle and it was zeroed. Ive not had any issues with it, its been dropped, dragged in the dirt and drenched in a rain storm and not a single issue with it. Vortex has never let me down.
Pros:
- Price
- lifetime warranty
- Quality & Craftsmanship

I built another AR a couple years ago with a 16" Ballistic Advantage Hanson Barrel. I was using an eotech with a 3x magnifier at first then got a great deal on the tan OPMOD version. After I got it zeroed in, the gun was an absolute blast to shoot. 1x for close work and a throw lever to switch to 6 power in an instant out to 500. With the reticle being Illuminated it just adds to the awesomeness. I will keep running red dots on my shortys but all my 16's are getting 1-6 or 1-8, LPVO's.
Pros:
- Glass clarity, ease of adjustment, and cost value
- Holds zero after thousands of rounds. Glass clarity is outstanding. Well worth more than what I paid for e.
- Throw lever for quick magnifying changes. Has held zero for 5k rounds. Now that I know what it can do iym
- I think for a 16* carbine an LPVO is a must. Glass clarity e

If properly attached and zero'd the Strike eagle (not a fan of the name) is rock solid, and holds all the way through the zoom range at 100yds. The BDC is accurate, when shooting 5.56, to at least 300yds (as far as I've shot) I'm confident it would hold to 600yds. The zoom ring can be a bit stiff and requires your whole palm to move and the plastic caps feel a bit cheap. You will undoubtedly forget that you've left the illumination on and the battery will die so don't use it.

I received this optic and had no problems the first time I shot it on my AR15. The next time I took it shooting, I brought it home and the optic no longer illuminated. I changed the battery and still no luck. Hindsight being what it is I'm just gonna save up for an EOTech or Aimpoint from now on. If your gonna buy Vortex, do yourself a favor and buy a Razor HD.
Cons:
- Illumination Failure
- Spent $300 for a broken optic

I picked this up for my Steyr AUG, and so far it hasn’t disappointed. I can see steel lates at 300yds without any issues, and ding them all day long. I purchased it in a combo with the cantilever Vortex mount, which is also great, and stable enough for my needs. I’d buy it again for sure if the need arises for another variable power optic.

Initially set at 50 yards and couldnt get zeroed like I like my hunting rifle. Back out to 100 yards and it's where I need it. Great scope for the price. Will by again for any future self defense AR builds.

The vortex strike eagle is a very nice clear scope and the 1 to 6 magnification is great for more magnification than your standard red dot but not to much to be large an bulky like a normal rifle scope. Great for quick and easy target transitions from 10 to 200 yards easily the opmod tan color is nicely done an looks great. Sitting on a 50 Beowulf it seems to handle the recoil with ease
Pros:
- Compact not to bulky & light weight
Cons:
- Would be nice to have a 2 x 10 magnification

In the process of mounting. It's been difficult finding the right base and rings. I'm mounting this on a Marlin 444 and the original rings I ordered - Leupold 30mm medium were to low to fit over the rear sight. I reorder the high rings and I'm anticipating their arrival.

Scope looks great, Vortex has amazing customer service. The brightness settings are very intuitive, lowest level can be used at low light/night and Brightest drowns out the sun. Scope and it’s vortex mount are solid and maintain zero well. Reticle is great for known ranged targets. However, limited options for sizing/ ranging unknown targets at unknown ranges. But the 50yd-200yd zero the reticle specifies makes sense. Other down side is that scope w/ mount are HEAVEY
Pros:
- Solid, maintains zero well
