This scope does it all. Dial it down to 2 and use it like a red dot or crank it up to 10 verify antlers before taking the shot. Great for close in work and far out shots too. Illuminated recticle helps with low light conditions.

After watching video reviews and reading comments/threads I decided to take a chance with this scope. This has to be the most forgiving and clear scope you can buy for the money. Yeah the eye relief says 3.4” but I can assure you it is way more than that at 2x you can dance around this thing until around 6x but then it’s still very easy. Second focal plane was never my intention for any future scope but this just made more sense being on a 10” 300 blackout shooting subs and supers. This scope is like having a red dot(very bright in any lighting conditions) that stretches out to 600 yards at 10x. Beautifully clear glass from 10yards - unlimited. I wanted something more like a FFP 1-10x but I understand that my preferences were wrong once I looked through and took my first shot.

I bought this scope to put on my Q mini fix 300Blackout, and it does not disappoint. I’m not a vortex fanboy by any means (this is my first one), and it has pretty good glass for the price point. I use my fix as a hunting rifle strictly. So far I haven’t got to test this thing harshly yet but just with the fit and finish of the scope and looking through it, it seems to be a solid choice for someone who is just needing a hunting scope and not trying to break the bank or is trying to keep on a smaller budget.

I recently bought my 2nd one of these Viper HD 2-10x42 scopes. I've been using the first one for about a year. I bought the second one because I really like the eye relief, image quality, and the magnification range of my first one. These scopes compare very well with my more expensive scopes, and at this price level I think they are a great value.

Great scope for deer hunting I have one on 270 a-bolt this one is going on a T/C Omega.

This is my third Viper HD scope: my first, a 2-10x, was a perfect fit for a Marlin 30-30. The 3-15x is great for my 30-06. And just purchased this 2-10x for a muzzleloader. The clarity is excellent: I also own a Razor LHT, and this is only a slight step down. And I love the illuminated reticle for early morning and late night shots, especially in dense cover. It's a great option for close-mid range hunting!

I hunt in wooded areas in the northeast of the United States. Not many opportunities for long distance shots. Most of the shots I take are 150 yards and in, with the occasional 300 yard shot, so I do not need 15+ magnification. I like second focal plane scopes because I shoot crosshairs. My deer hunting rifle has a Leupold VX6-HD 2-12 Gen 2, which I adore. In short, it’s my dream scope. I recently got a predator gun and I wanted good glass without spending 2 grand. For the money, the Vortex Viper HD 2-10 is amazing. The glass quality and clarity at this price point is fantastic. The magnification ring is smooth and the illuminated reticle is handy when you need it. It’s similar to my firedot on my Leupold. Vortex also has a no questions asked lifetime warranty, so if anything goes wrong, send it back. I can buy 4 Vipers for the price of my Leupold. That’s crazy value, because the glass clarity is not that far off. For my needs, I couldn’t be happier with this purchase and I’d buy it again if I get another gun.

Have all vortex products and there warranty is out sanding. Iwould highly recommend any of there products. Have them all the way from a 22lr to 300 win
