If you are trying to mount a scope on a Savage Axis, I would highly recommend this base. DOES NOT FIT
Bought it for my savage axis 308 and is about an inch too short. Not sure if i got the wrong one but its advertised for savage axis, wouldnt recommend. It looks ok other than that but the screws wouldnt even screw in the gun, i had to use the original screws from the old mounts to even mount it.
Not for Savage Axis
All indications are that this mount would fit a Savage Axis, and it would if the screws were the right size. Screws are to small for drill holes in rifle. Can't use larger screws without drilling the base out to accept larger screws. Should be labeled better since it doesn't fit a brand new savage axis!
Can't return either since it's a final sale. Pretty poor that I have to eat the cost when it doesn't fit what it says it does.

Fixed my problem
I had recently bought a new scope and it didn’t fit. I bought this rail and the screws that came with it did not fit my rifle but I reused the ones that were on it and it works perfectly. I haven’t shot it yet but I hope that it will hold center.

Savage Axis Rifle Scope Base System
The shipping time was very quick. This fit on my rifle perfectly, it comes with replacement screws for the rifle. The screws fit without isue. Very easy install, my vortex pro series mounts fit on very well.

Perfect fit and finish
Fits beautifully and allows for way better optic placement, also looks allot better than the stick mounts, highly recommend! Took only a few minutes to install, used a little thread locker and that’s all there is to it.

Fast shipping - great product
Fast shipping to my door- allowed me to mount my new scope and get on the bench! Factory bases only give one option on ring spacing. This gives many more options for spacing. Will always have one handy for any more axis rifles bought.

Weaver scope base #506 matte 48347
Needed this base for a Savage Axis .223. It fits perfectly and would have given it 5 stars but one of the screws in the package was too long. No problem, I just recycled one of the screws from the factory installed mount. However, the screws that came with it are slotted. Not my favorite but they work fine.

Solid Base
Excellent fit to the rifle. Used it with a Vortex Diamond Back 3-9 x 40 on my daughters Axis II Rifle. The medium height rings supplied by Vortex with the rifle were not high enough to allow the objective bell to clear the lugs on this mount limiting my ability to position the scope for eye relief, but I blame that on the rings, Mount is a typical solid weaver mount.

weaver multi slot for savage axis
odered this for my savage axis to be able to use different scopes and it works great only reason for the 4star rating the package was opened and the base mounting screws were missing other than that great great deal would recomend if looking for a scope base for your axis.

Weaver Multi slot base for savage axis
Just what I needed for my Savage Axis. Ordered on Saturday and received on Wednesday. Can't beat that for service. Price was right too. Will be using Planet Optics again.The two piece base that came with my rifle would not accommodate my scope which is a Center Point 3x12x44mm.There was no adjustment for eye relief. With this one piece base there is plenty of adjustment for eye relief.

perfect for savage axis
my savage axis .308 came with the two piece mount which was ok... but the scope rings that came with the vortex crossfire scope were too low and the bolt would hit the scope and the flip up scope cap got higher scope rings but when i went to remove the old ones, the allen screws stripped. i was able to remove the base with the scope ring still attached but now had no way to mount the scope. i found this one piece base so i tried it.... it fits perfectly! and i can mount the rings to adjust for eye relief. looks more solid. shipping was fairly quick too. i recommend it for anyone who owns a savage axis and is looking for a good scope base. thanks optics planet!
