Weaver 4X28 Scout Scope
This scope fits perfectly on my Marlin 1895 lever action 45/70. It was easy to install and gives me a very good field of view. I looked at two other scope manufacturers and the Weaver cost less and had a higher power factor. I would recommend it to others.
Pros: All that I expected
Optical quality lacking
Had high hopes for this scope after recognizing it was made in Japan rather than China or the Philippines.
Unfortunately, found two major flaws; first, I could not get a sharp, clear image, regardless how I adjusted the eyepiece.
Secondly, the reticle is too fine for anything but a light colored target in good light.
It’s pluses are that it is light and compact, with very distinct clicks upon adjustment. Seems to hold zero well.
When compared side-by-side to my Burris scout scopes, the optical clarity was immediately noticeable and the heavier reticle was much easier to discern.

Weaver Scout on Ruger Scout Rifle
The scope is small, light weight but seems to be made very well. It mounts perfectly forward of the receiver just like it is supposed to be. Use low mounts and it will fit perfect and clear the front sight. Glass is clear and sharp and the reticle is perfect. I can snap the rifle to my shoulder with both eyes open and acquire a correct sight picture without any conscious effort. This is the perfect setup for a hunting river bottoms. Time well tell if this thing holds up but from the other reviews I believe this will work perfect on a scout rifle chambered in 6.5. Optics Planet delivered quickly with product packed well. No issues as always!

Superb quality and price!
I put a Weaver K4 on my Interams .458 Win Mag and repeatedly achieved 4-shot clover-leaf groups at 75m. I've since taken this combination on a couple of cape buffalo hunts to Zimbabwe and also to the Northern Territory for water buffalo. I can only say that in such extremes of temperature and environment the Weaver K4 is second to NONE! In my experience it's an absolutely dependable, rugged scope, with crystal clear optics that holds zero no matter what. Other more expensive scopes look the part and have amazing gadgetry, but for the no-nonsense big game shooter - that wants amazing value for money and dependability - I thouroughly recommend this scope because it gets the job done. Period!

Great Fixed Power Scope
After weeks of research looking for a scope for my newly purchased Ruger Gunsight Scout chambered in .308 I had a few things in mind. I needed to find something lightweight to retain the rifles ease of mobility. Also, I wanted something streamline that would go well with the gun. Well I found those two things with this scope. It goes really well with my 16 inch barreled polymer stock Ruger Scout. I also purchased low ring mounts and it easily clears the irons. The listing of the weight is wrong on the website as it is much lighter. I believe it has been fixed on the Weaver website.

Great Scout Scope
I've read that the best scout scope should be 4x power. Now I understand why. Easy target acquisition and enough magnification to zero in on the target. And this scope has an excellent reticle. Haven't tried it beyond 200 yards, but so far so good. Best of all, it didn't break the bank.

Great scope.
I had been looking for a medium priced scout scope to mount on my Ruger GSR. I had used Weaver scopes on other rifles and was generally pleased, so I bought this model. It mounted easily in a set of quick release rings and looks good on the rifle. The reticle is sharp, and not too large. The view is very clear. Overall, a great value.

Weaver 4x28 Classic Scout Scope top quality optics with lifetime warranty
This is my 2nd Weaver 4x28 Scout scope. In my opinion the construction and optics are equal to Leupold and Burris fixed power scopes I own. Unlike Leupold, the lifetime warranty for Weaver is only good to the original owner but if you plan on keeping it you're all set. This scope is made in Japan which is known for outstanding optics. These scopes hold up to HOT 350 grain 45-70 hand-loads in the Marlin 1895 and .308 on a Ruger Gunsite Scout. The late Lt. Col. Jeff Cooper considered 4x the perfect magnification for a scout scope. Optics Planet, with a 10% or better coupon, always has the best prices on the internet and I've never found a better deal at retail. I have a friend with an FFL who sells me at cost but considering OP makes about $18 profit on this scope over Dealer cost, less what they pay for shipping it to your front door, why bother a friend.

Weaver K4 Scout Scope
I like the fact that this is a fixed power scope: they're getting harder & harder to find these days. Variable scopes are less rugged. Shooting with one is also like shooting a different rifle every time you change the power, so you don't "bond" with your rifle. This scope produces good focus for my 63 year old eyes, which many scopes can't do. Weaver is a long established company with a good reputation. This scope is made in Japan, NOT China! Enough said....

Works Good
I put this scope on a Savage Scout rifle, .308. I had a Leupold 2.5 IER Scout scope on it at first but it did not give me the magnification I wanted at 100yds. The 4x Weaver gives me the magnification I was looking for.

excellent scope!
Great sight picture w/ extended eye relief! Easy target acquisition; I've turned my Mosin Nagant M44 into a versatile deer rifle w/ this little Weaver. Aiming with both eyes open was a surprisingly easy adjustment to make. You can jump a deer, visually track it through the woods while waiting for a good shot, and then put the crosshairs where they need to be… all in one smooth continuum.
