Most Helpful Positive Review Weaver Rimfire 4x28mm scope
Love this scope on my Henry lever .22lr, clicks are precise, and sights in easily. Most cheaper scopes I have tried over the years, if you move the windage knob it affects the elevation setting, and vice-versa, and this one doesn't do that. Mine took 2 adjustments, and did a group of 3 in the x ring at 25yds.all touching one another, or cutting holes. Very comparable to the much higher priced Leupold rimfire scope, and used the money saved for ammo instead. Parallax free at 50 yds. as advertised with a very clear sight picture at all ranges for a .22lr. I only wish they offered it in a gloss...

Weaver rifle scope

by Bob, from AL, United States Written on August 16, 2018
Recently bought a Weaver scope and it was a joy to use. Decided to try a fixed power scope, and it was a good decision. Being a rimfire rifle, it was for shooting small game usually in 30-40 yards. Just learned that Weaver scopes are made and assembled in Japan, and the quality is so much better than scopes made in other countries. Japan also makes the glass, which is great. Even Leupold uses glass made in other countries, but assebles the scope in USA.
Pros:
  • Simple & Solid
Cons:
  • none for me
Best Used for:
  • Small game hunting

Weaver Rimfire RV4 works for me!

by Stantheman, from FL, United States Written on November 24, 2016
I am very pleased with this scope. The clarity is excellent and eye position is pretty forgiving. It is lightweight and compact and looks great on a .22. The Leupold FX-I or FX-II might be better in some respects but then again I would be paying two and three times more and this scope is being worn on a Marlin and not a Kimber or Cooper.

Best 22lr scope I have ever owned

by JPChas, from SC, United States Written on February 11, 2016
I put this scope on my 50th anniversary Ruger 10-22. It is a great scope. Clear class, light weight, good field of view. A 4-power scope is the best for the 22lr. I have had two other 3-9X scopes - one with an adjustable objective - they are only good at the shooting bench. I still have a 3-9x32 on my Savage 22lr. This simple Weaver is a far better scope. I could consistently hit a 6-inch and 3-inch steel plate with the scope on my Ruger. The image was clear and it was easy to use the 30-30 reticule to judge hold over. I tried the same thing with my Simmons 22mag 3-9X on my Savage and it was harder to see the plates due to the poor quality glass. I also kept fiddling with the power ring and that just made things worse. I have learned my lesson. A high-quality, 4X scope it the way to go. All of the others weight too much for the gun and have too mush to fiddle with. This scope is the Classic rim fire scope. I may be buying another soon for my Savage which is actually more accurate than my Ruger.
Pros:
  • It is the best 22lr scope for most shooter.
Cons:
  • None

Simple and efficient

by Lefty, from MA, United States Written on January 27, 2016
A shooter for 50 years, I'd never owned a scope and wanted one for my Savage Mark II GL. This bolt-action rifle is as accurate as any .22 I've ever owned, but at distances of 100 yards or more, my aging eyes required more than iron sights. The Weaver 4X28, light in weight and simple in operation, was the perfect choice, and my pleasure in shooting, not to mention my shot groups, has improved markedly. New to optics, I selected this scope based on user reviews and price, and I like it so much that I'm thinking of getting a second one for my Marlin 60. To attach the scope to the Mark II, which lacked a mount, I purchased the recommended Weaver top-mount base No. 24 gloss and Hawke Sport Optics rings, a combination that yielded a low-profile setup. The only change I'd make is the base, which I'd replace with a rail. The scope is short -- 10.25 inches -- and a rail would allow sliding it a little closer to the eye. I don't know if less eye relief would make shooting more comfortable, but with only one attachment point for the rings, and the scope as far aft as the short tube allows, I have no way of finding out. With the scope itself I have no complaints: The fixed power is just right for the shooting I do, the cross hairs are crystal clear, and the sight picture is bright. Scope adjustments are crisp, and sighting in was a breeze. Though I'd never attached a scope before and am no whiz with tools, the instructions were clear, and assembly was easy. Watching a couple of instruct...

Rimfire Black Matte RV4 Rifle Scope

by Griff, Verified Owner from IN, United States Written on November 29, 2015
I purchased two of these to replace 3-9 power scopes by other manufacturers. One was placed on an old Remington Nylon 66, the first of the synthetic stocked rifles circa 1974. The second was placed on a recently purchased Ruger 10/22 with a black synthetic stock and a secondary market receiver that had a forged Picatinny rail included. Both were mounted using Weaver 6 bolt one inch scope rings with integral mounts. Both locked up snug and tight and after a few hundred rounds are punching one inch holes at 50 yards with 15 rounds of Eley Prime Target .22 cal. Goof price for the product.

A great scope for the money

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner Written on March 16, 2013
This is a great little scope for the money. Glass is nice and clear, and I like the reticle. However, as others have mentioned the click adjustments are cheap feeling. Scope holds zero very well however.
Pros: Compact package, great glass
Cons: Click adjustments feel cheap

Weaver Classic 4x28 Rimfire Scope

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner Written on October 6, 2010
Bought for a Browning BL-22, great physical match, preserves the lines of those smaller rimfires. On unpacking, disappointed to find traces of oil on tube, luckily not on lenses! Not up to the usual Japanese production standards... Click adjustments seem very cheap, similar to some $40 scopes, though the adjustments are accurate and repeatable. Optics are brighter than my Leupold VX1 2-7x33 (set on 4x), with a similar trace of edge chromatic aberration, a pleasing result, especially for a 28mm. Overall, recommended for those seeking good optics in a small scope, and nearly half the price of the equivalent Leupold.
Pros: Bright, light, good physical match for a .22
Cons: Windage/elevation adjusters belong on much cheaper scope

Weaver 4x Rimfire scope

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from MD, United States Written on May 16, 2010
After owning 5 or 6 Leupold rifle scopes over the years, I thought I'd try a Weaver. To my surprise, this scope is made in Japan (a good sign!) and nearly every bit as bright as the 4x Leupold rimfire I once owned. Another nice feature about this solid scope is that the windage and elevations settings are click-adjustable, something Leupold does not offer in their lessor scopes. Don't hesitate to buy a Weaver, lots of bang for your buck here.
Pros: Great optics value for your money
Cons: none

Excellent Scope!

by Legacy Reviewer, Verified Owner from CA, United States Written on March 21, 2010
I mounted one of these fantastic scopes on my Henry H001T Frontier 22lr. It is the perfect scope for a 22lr in my opinion! I can hit empty shotgun shells
out to 75+ yards regularly. Super clear glass is on par with the Leupold 4X28mm
rimfire for $80+ less in my opinion. You can't go wrong with this scope. Totally worth the extra money! Don't waste your time buying bargain cheap scopes for your 22. Once you use this scope you will either give away your cheap rimfire scopes or throw them in the trash. No kidding, there really is that much difference!
Pros: Super Clear Glass! Escellent value for the money!
Cons: None!
