Excellent option for 9mm PCC builds
Having run my 16" bbl AR9 build with just a thread protector on the muzzle for a few months I was finding it difficult to keep double taps on a 66% IDPA plate at 50+ yards. Though I figured the forces from the blowback action were the main contributor to the weapon movement I figured it was worth a shot to try a comp/brake. There are not a ton of options in 1/2x36 thread and there are not many reviews for the ones that are available (at least pertaining to 9mm), but the YHM slant brake seemed fairly aggressive and was on the less expensive side so it won my money.
I ran the PCC bare muzzle fo...

Reduces recoil on 9mm, 16" barrel build
Got this for a AR15/AR9 custom build with a 16 inch barrel. It did significantly reduce the recoil, but offset with a bit more noise.
Pros:
- Recoil and rise virtually eliminated
Cons:
- loud and substantial muzzle blast
Best Used for:
- Custom Build
Would recommend: Yes

Works better than expected
Yankeehill Machine is a company that knows what is doing. Not kidding, they do. This muzzle break has the quality and finish I was looking for, BUT most importantly it works wonders. The gasses are so evenly dispersed I would say the recoil is the same and possibly less than my 556 that runs with a flash hider. I totally love this product and to too it off, it wasn’t a bank breaker!!
Pros:
- Minimal recoil
Cons:
- None
Would recommend: Yes

Decent Brake
Used this on a 9mm AR build, fit perfectly onto the properly threaded barrel and managed to get it lined up straight with the provided crush washer. Much bigger than I anticipated it would look, but it does give the rifle a pretty aggressive look. It's not especially good at reducing recoil on this type of build, however, because there's relatively little gas coming out the barrel compared to a rifle cartridge, and also because of the direct blowback system. Would likely be much more effective on a 6.8 or 7.62 rifle.
All in all, a well made, nice looking muzzle attachment. Definitely not a necessary upgrade though - would not recommend purchasing solely for recoil reduction on a pistol caliber build!

YHM Brake/Comp
Awesome, This Brake actually works. I shoot competitively and needed a brake that will reduce muzzle rise, This brake was suggested to me from a fellow shooter. Its a little heavy when you first feel it, but that's part of what makes it work so well. This brake is exactly what I needed for my AR-9.
