The geometry is mil-spec, but the weight is not. This BCG uses a grade 5 titanium carrier which is significantly lighter weight than steel. You do need an adjustable gas block to use as it is intended. Tune your adjustable gas block so your brass ejects at approximately 4:30 and you will achieve a reduction in felt recoil. Using a heavier buffer instead of using an adjustable gas block simply results in the weight being added back in.

It will fit the Black Rain Spec-15, but your rifle has a non-adjustable gas block, so you will need to install an adjustable gas block before using this BCG.
Here’s why: like any low-mass BCG, the titanium carrier accelerates faster under the same gas pressure. An adjustable gas block allows you to reduce the gas until the rifle cycles reliably and ejects brass at approximately the 4:30 position, indicating proper BCG speed. Properly tuning the gas will also produce a smoother recoil impulse. Running the BCG without adjusting the gas can result in excessive carrier speed and unnecessary wear on both the rifle and BCG - essentially creating an overgassed condition. We recommend an adjustable gas block from Superlative Arms, SLR Rifleworks, or Riflespeed. They are well worth the investment.
The BCG includes our OEM steel firing pin for longevity. Our components are hand-matched for proper operation and to minimize tolerance stacking, so we recommend using the supplied steel firing pin. A titanium firing pin provides no meaningful benefit and may reduce reliability.
Works flawlessly on my 7.5” 300 Blk out pistol. Works great suppressed or not suppressed without any issues. Have a titanium superlative arms adjustable gas black as well!
