I have a 1976 Colt Sporter AR15 A2 so no bayonet lug. Will it work on my rifle?

I bought it and it fits perfectly. I have the front sight but no bayonet lug. It has space for the lug but the luge doesn't need to be there to allow the rail to fit tight to the barrel. Great for my flashlight It goes on the left or right side of the barrel.

The Sniper AR-15 4/15 Tri Rail Barrel Mounts for Front Sight Attachment is designed to fit the AR15 platform with a fixed front sight post. So as long as you have a front sight post this will fit.

Yes, this would fit in front of the front sight post/gas block. It should fit with that handguard.
