This is a must have. Its alot easier and more convenient than driving a roll pin in. And a whole lot easier to remove if U ever have to strip your lower. I will use these on all my builds.

This product solves the problem of risking marring your lower receiver while installing the bolt catch roll pin. Yes, you can purchase special extended length punches specifically for this purpose, but why bother when you can just use the KNS Precision Bolt Catch Retaining Pin?
My only con is the price; hence the 4 stars.

In theory, this seems like a simple design, easily installed. If you don't have the right tools, it aint gonna happen. The pin did fit my Franklin Armory lower, but the clips are so small, making it difficult to install. Three clips come in the package, whether you going to bend one or two, or just plain lose it. My frustration got the best of me and I went back to a roll pin. If you can install it, I don't see it being an easy task to remove it either, to switch bolt releases. I give it a 3 because it seems like a good idea, but I just couldn't get it installed. I didn't check any other brands to see if there would be a fit problem or compare billet to forged lowers.
Pros:
- Good idea in theory
- extra clips

This is a great product that I will continue to buy and use in future builds. Super easy to install and works exactly as designed with no chance of coming loose if you install it correctly, needles nose pliers help a lot.
Best Used for:
- AR lowers w/o threaded bolt catch pin

I like KNS parts. Always seem to be well machined and finished in Nitride. I have their BCG Pin, Gen 2 & JJ anti-walk pins, take down detents, safety detent, bolt release plunger & this bolt catch pin. All have held up and functioning exactly as advertised and their small parts seem to hold up better then most. I had no problems installing this pin or the C-clip. I thought the C-clip would've been a little bit harder to install, but i used some hemostats that locked and it was quite easy and quick. I believe they gave me 3 extra c-clips just in case the clip falls off. I have somewhere around 700rnds on this clip and its still there even after being wiped down and cleaned. Yea the clip could snag or catch on something out in the field but for home defense or bench shooting shouldn't be a problem. Beats having to pound out another pin and mar the lower receiver.
Pros:
- EASY INSTALL
- Nitride Finish
- price construction quality
- well built
- quality finish & machining
- Better Designed Parts

I mounted on my Anderson lower with no problem at all,I shot over 1000 rounds without any problems. when you mount on your lower make sure you snap the c clip onto the pin once it snaps on it won’t come off I use a miniature screwdriver to mount c clip, I’ve been taken my AR15 to the range over 6 month and the pin is still there and I fire 55-62 and even 70 grain without any issues I highly recommend great AR15 bolt catch I have them mounted on all of my 7 AR15.

3 rounds through my pistol and it went adios. Pretty bummed. First time out with this weapon and it failed after 3 rounds. They give you a couple of extra c-clips if your lucky enough to see that it went bye bye. I was not and so my pistol now has a roll pin installed in the bolt catch. Se la vie.

I recently installed this on a pistol build. It has stayed installed for 100 rounds so far. It is way easier to install than a typical roll pin. I will leave another review if I experience the “C” clip falling off. But so far so good. Leaving at 4 stars until 500 rounds without loss of “C” clip.
