Great Product
This is a great stock, its very well built and thought out. It has a lot of little storage areas. The installation was easy and the instructions were very clear. I have no complaints about it. I would recommend this.

shouldnt have to spend more money to mount a sling.
its absurd that after buying a $100 stock i have to buy proprietary inserts to mount a sling to it. want to use a sling? thats $30 more. for about $2 in parts that should have been included from the get go. this wasnt done by them to save $2 in product cost, it was done to get you to spend $30 afte...

Great mod for the 10/22
Just recently installed the backpacker on my 10/22 TD and have to say it seems great so far. Easy installation and love the functionality of it. The extra storage in the stock is a plus. I would recommend it.

potential weak point
the x22 bp works as intended turning your 1022 into a 1 pce unit in takedown mode for easy transport in a say a backpack and the extra storage is a bonus, but it eliminates the barrel band on the fore end. this pce is designed to fit both the bull and standard barrel. the thinner barrel leaves a gap on each side with a little round plug on the bottom to support it. mp just needs to make a bigger u shaped adapter to cradle the barrel and fill in these gaps to mimick the barrel band. the fore end screws into this metal block with a second screw same as the action which houses the td lever and two smaller screws which go into the barrel. mine were loose and they dont automatically line up straight when tight. so they could come loose or you could knock your barrel off center inside the fore end bc of the gaps. i used loctite also. maybe not a problem with the bull barrel but i think this is an oversight by magpul and why ruger has the barrel band there. if you dont have a 1022 already consider getting a regular model/non td, and then a folding stock or deserttech bullpup which is twice the price of mp. if i had to do it over i would prob get the charger model w a folding stock for a backpack gun which could be deployed alot faster.

fantastic addition to 10/22
Installing on my 18.5” stainless ruger 10/22 fit extremely well. Nice and tight. Worked well with volquartsen tg2000 trigger. Also allowed use of titanium takedown screw. No modifications needed. Absolutely love the looks of the od green with the stainless.
Would recommend: Yes
Beware doesnt include QD like it says
You have to pay $30 plus tax and shipping to get qd devices its only cut for them but they arent included... such a scam they should be included for that price it never said I had to pay seperate until I opened the instructions.

- None
Cons:
- Expensive

Magpul 10/22 takedown stock
Very nice stock.well made quality. Ended up buying 3.
Would recommend: Yes
had to come dock them one star
This is a fantastic stock. The best 22 “survival rifle” concept since the Marlin Papoose, browning 22 auto, Henry chunker, etc
Knocked it down a star because they make the sling adapters a $12+ each extra purchase. So yeah, you can’t hook a sling to this stock as supplied, you have to buy one of two of either a threaded swivel stud or Magpul QD connector.
Now that that’s out of the way, throw this stock on a 10/22 takedown with aluminum tensioned barrel and you have a light, handy, capable 22 rimfire rifle that fits in a briefcase or standard backpack with 40+ rounds on board.
The way the stock and fore end/barrel interface and lock together is genius.
Picatinny fore end mounted sight rail available. Multiple comb heights available. Comfortable, intuitive, handleable stock. Repeatable zero. Well balanced.
Just can’t say enough… if they didn’t occasionally cheap out on something like sling hardware, I’d appreciate Magpul a lot more.
