Works really well. Makes if possible to use a laser along with a optic or just a optic without loosing zero. Really great idea. Down the barrel far enough to place a small red dot on it and still keep your eyes on target. Attaches quickly, just remember the breakdown lever just pulls out of the mechanism, not threads out.

Great Addon Rail for X-22 Backpacker
Easy to follow instructions, good build quality. If you are worried about losing 0 with a takedown you can mount directly to the barrel with this. Opening through the center lets you cowitness. Goes well with reflex sights.

Easy to Install
Does just what it says. Easy to install and mounts directly to the barrel so it's very solid.
I installed it on the stock backpacker foregrip. A bit of sanding with a Dremel disk to create a small clearance for for the mount was all that was needed. Very easy.

Good part for building survival rifle
Great part to mount a scope on the ruger 10/22 w magpul x22 backpacker stock. Really easy to install. Took 10 min to put on. Keeps scope attatched to barrel parr of gun. Its also got a groove so you can use the iron sights as well.

great addition to a TD
Nice way to add a red dot to the TD Backpacker model. Straightforward installation instructions, well made and thought-out piece. Not too bulky, unobtrusive, yet seems sturdy enough. I have a receiver mounted iron sight on mine, so can't use the see-through feature with an optic mounted, but solved that with a QD mount. The rifle still fits in the Ruger bag with this mount attached, too, although I've only got a Burris FF3 on it now. This is basically a scout mount for a reddot; not big enough to mount a scope, but very handy.

Magpul X-22 Optic
This optic mount is great. Good instructions, lightweight, and sturdy. I mounted on the Tactical Solutions bull barrel and it fits with the fiber optic sights that some on the barrel. I hear the standard Ruger sight might need to be removed. With the red dot off you can use the regular sights with the mount in place. With the red dot on you can’t. All Magpul’s stuff is high quality and functional.

More magpul
Works great. Just takes a few minutes to install. Works fantastic to mount my red dot. It appears it gives clearance to use iron sites, however, the optic I have on it blocks that view. I will be trying another one so I can still use irons if need be. But that does not take away from the rating for me. I love this with my backpacker stock

Perfect proprietary mount for Magpul X22 Backpacker stock.
I purchased this product along with the Magpul Backpacker stock for a Ruger 10/22 Takedown carbine. Both products I believe are specific to each other and as such are not interchangeable with any other firearm that I am aware of. I am using this product with a red dot sight on an ADM quick-detach optic mount. The reason for this is to enable me to use the iron sights when the optic is removed. This item replaces the barrel block of the firearm as the mount itself becomes integral to the barrel assembly. Very well designed and executed concept and the actual machining is superb. Worth the money and there is no other product like it. American made.

excellent quality - solid but small
Bought this mount to go along with the X22 Backpacker takedown stock to mount a Holosun Red dot. Worked perfectly with stock the fit was exceptional and mount was solid and low to barrel. Easily clears stock barrel profile and will clear a .920 bull barrel. ONLY ISSUE is the actual length of the mounting surface is limited. You can really only mount a small micro red dot like the size of a Holosun 503 or an Accupoint H-1 or T-1 with single cross bolt clamp. A larger optic such as one of the Prism sights that uses a double cross bolt clamp system I do not believe will work as there are only 3 slots on this rail, you would need a forth.
Length of rail side slots are only 1.5 inch as I said perfect for the Micro red dots but not for anything much larger. Hope this helps.

OPTIC MOUNT X22 BACKPACKER
Works great I have this paired with a primary arms red dot that works fantastic holds zero every time have had about 500 rounds through with x22 backpacker stock and this mount and even shoots great too 100 yards very happy with this setup I would do again
