Possibly one the best values in optics out there!
I have 3 of these mounted on PCC's and .223 rifles. My wife has a Gen 1 version and my brother purchased one of the Gen 2 versions for his girlfriend as well.
I only have around 500 rounds through the firearms with this optic. So, the only reason I am not giving 5 stars is that I cannot personal...

BUYER BEWARE: If you plan to add a magnifier look elsewhere
I had two of these at one point. As standalone red dots they are great. Decent features, good price (especially if you get them when PA is liquidating old stock), though if you plan to add a magnifier then look elsewhere. I'd recommend the Sig Sauer Romeo family (some of which are made in the USA).

Got a defect, but there's more...
So to start with, Opticsplanet was super with the return and refund. Printed a shipping label, UPS took it and it was all refunded within like a week of dropping it off. The reticle illumination was very dim, it could not be seen under setting 8 out of 11, this was indoors and not in even brighter sunlight and I am quite certain it wasn't that dim by design. I decided not to replace it with another because the ACSS reticle without a magnifier is completely worthless. The chevron not only is barely visible, but it is so small the dot that it appears as is barely visible let alone every other mark beneath it. I already knew about the stiff dial and can confirm yes it's stiff when it arrives new. I did like everything else about it and the risers included were able to put it at a 1/3 cowitness. I would ONLY use this ACSS with a magnifier which kind of defeats the purpose of a red dot sight over a LPVO otherwise if the red dot model has a large enough dot and was brighter than my likely defect, I'd go for that one.

Primary Arms XL red dot. SLX MD-25.
Shipping was quick and easy, mounting was easy, sighting in was easy, use for intended purpose was extremely satisfying. I have had other red dots, no real complaints. But this one is quite a bit better. The shake awake is a major for me.. Thank you, OpticsPlanet.

Reticle is Crooked
So I have two of these and one of them looks great, the reticle is clear and sharp. The other one is fine as well except that the reticle appears noticeably crooked, about 5-10 degrees tilted left (from 12 o’clock toward 11). My rail is level and the mount looks fine, so I think it must be the optic itself. Never had that happen before so hopefully it’s a one-off, but I am disappointed with this one. Normally my experience with Primary Arms products has been top-notch.

Old man/new technology
Was easy to install, glass looked good, and I truly enjoy the "ACSS CQB". To me it's a very highly logical way to aim a firearm. Extremely quick to use. Quality was excellent. Delivery time was fast as always! A very "good value per dollar" in my eyes. I would not hesitate to purchase another, or recommend it to a friend.

Great red dot
I like this red dot so much that I have 2. One on a 5.56 and the other on a 300blk.

Looks good, but panic purchase mostly
This is my 3rd Primary Arms optic. I usuay prefer etched reticle optics in case the battery dies but the price was too good to pass on this red dot.
It was mostly a panic buy due to California's new law AB1263 coming into effect Jan 1, 2026 restricting us from having accesories shipped to our home causing me to have backups for my backups. Many online retailers are simply refusing to ship anything to us out of fear of breaking this new vague law so gotta stock up and hope this law is challenged in court and reversed.
It uses a CR2032 battery which is the same as other optics, which I prefer. Again, haven't mounted it yet but will do so at a much later date.

Pros:
- Mount and lense covers included
- CR2032 Battery
- Wide window to acquire target
Cons:
- not sure yet
Best Used for:
- Short range and fast target acquisition
- home defense & plinking

Great Sight
This is the third one I've ordered.
It's a solid rugged Red dot that holds zero and works every time! You cannot get a better sight at this price!

great optic!
I bought this for my .357 marlin, 1894.
And it made this gun so fun to shoot.
I got the ACSS reticle, sighted it in at 50 yards, and have no problem taking it out to 200 yards.
I also got one for my 10/22 takedown because of the unlimited eye relief.
Strongly recommend.
