This safety is a must have for any pistol grip tactical stock. It is a quality product at a good price.

I find these 100% necessary for a defensive 870. The factory safety is too small and awkwardly placed,this fixes that

I want to thank you for your perseverance in resolving my issue of getting the wrong Wilson Combat dome head safety. After talking with one of your reps. she got to the bottom of the problem and got it resolved. No fault on Optic Planet but the manufacturer of the safety had packaged it wrong. They had packaged the standard flat head safety in the domed head package. No one in Optic Planet's warehouse would know the difference unless they looked extremely close at the package to see that it was in the wrong package. She made a point to have them check the packaging closely and got me the right safety this time. Thanks for taking the time to get it right!

Far better than the factory unit and even the old style oversized Scattergun replacement. This safety, really a copy of the Vang, requires no shifting of your hand as you make the decision to fire, it sweeps off on your fingers way to the trigger. A great improvement.

Don't let the name fool you, this dome head safety is not just for "combat". I purchased this for a home defense Remington 870 build, and it took me a while to get the confidence (and time) up to take apart my 870's trigger. Once I did, I have decided to get one for my hunting 870s also. The ergonomics are excellent, and I find it much easier to take the safety off with a much more natural motion. It does not sit so high enough that I'm concerned about accidentally disengaging the safety, but I think I would still visually check it on occasion if I were handling it with gloves on in freezing weather while hunting -- better safe than sorry.

I had a little extra (but easy) work because I have a side-saddle/rail/heatshield installed on the gun, and it attached with replacement trigger pins. I had to remove that before I could remove the trigger.

On the original 870 without aftermarket parts, installation went much easier than expected. Make sure to have an appropriate sized punch to push out the pin that holds the safety spring and detent. Pin removal and replacement went smoothly. With a little caution and care I didn't lose any parts, and including cleaning the trigger, it took maybe 10 minutes to remove the factory trigger and change the safety. Watching a video tutorial from Youtube first will make this an easy install for most people with even minor mechanical inclination.

A absolute must on any shotgun really, given you have an 870 or whatever other models they make. Very easy to install. A bump is all you need to send err home. Highly recommend to anyone for any build. Very well machined piece of art. Oh yea MURICA MADE baby. Ooorrah

Bought this to replace the factory safety. Nothing wrong with the original, but wanted something that was easier to engage. Very easy to install, took less than five minutes. Seems to work better, and the trigger has less movement when safety is on.

I left a bad review because I didn’t get my items yet (mail mix up), then got em. The dome safety is easy to find. It’s uncomfortable enough to put your trigger finger in the correct position, a plus. It’s fast & easy. Get a plus 2 magazine while you can w/ it.

I’ve heard really good things about these products. They’re the best you can get for the price. I wish I had them. They’re supposed to be here Monday. I ordered them twice. The 1st time my post office sent all of my mail return to sender. Optics planets customer service people are near impossible to get on the phone. TheIr people who did contact me via e mail were good.

A note of warning: while the button does not protrude past the receiver, it does lay flush with it, which could make the gun more likely to go to fire in a soft case. It also is designed to more easily and quickly go to fire, which is why I would not recommend it for someone not proficient in weapons safety, or for someone who hasn’t considered the possible impacts of this design based on how they carry and store their weapon. That being said, for my purposes (law enforcement) it is perfect. The safety effortlessly goes to fire while moving my trigger finger to the trigger. It is slightly beneficial for off hand use as well. This thing does exactly what it is designed to do and is definitely an improvement on the standard design for certain applications.
