A Remington factory-manufactured Barrel, this 870 shotgun barrel features a beavertail rib and is optimized to deliver superior long-range target performance. Remington's Black Load (RL) process, unique to Remington, is featured throughout the manufacturing process, resulting in a stronger, more uniform barrel rifling. The rifling also reduces felt recoil, improves cyclic rate and improves pattern uniformity. Lapping has been reduced to the rifle-bore area, improving barrel strength and life. All Remington 870 shotgun barrels also feature the Power Bolt Safety, a steel firing pin with no front or rear locking shoe, for the ultimate reliability. Compact and versatile, the Remington 870 shotgun also utilizes a ramp on the buttstock. Trap-style rib provides solid shoulder similar to that of a Remington Model 870 shotgun. This chamber is not reversible, so when you install this shotgun barrel, the locking knob will not engage the magazine release.
