The top mount scope base is constructed with a continious block of Aluminum. The base is very solid and sits low. The solid base looks great on any rifle.

I got model 63B for a Henry 30-30 lever action and it fits great! My only complaint is that it only has 2 slots in it for scope ring placement (one for each ring) which seems inefficient. It would have been better if they just made it a picatinny rai...
