Great for the intended application
This spotter seems to have more mixed reviews than I see on other products. I think the reason is that people don't consider their application and therefore have distorted expectations.
My selection criteria:
- Must fit in my pack and be light weight
- Good eye relief to enable shooting glasses t...

Not better than a riflescope
I purchased this spotting scope for spotting targets at 300 yards. Out of the box, the unit appeared to be well made and provided for crisp clear images. However, when I brought it to the range and was using it to spot .30 cal holes at 300 yards, I could make out the holes better with my 21x rifle...

Legend T-Series 15-45x60mm Spotting Scope-DISAPPOINTED
I purchasd this spotting scope due to some reviews that I had read and watched. I am a life long hunter and I shoot plates at a long range facility. We can go out to a mile and have multiple fan ranges well over 900 meters. I wanted a spotting scope with a reticle. This would allow me to use it during hunting season as well as shooting long range as a spotter. I do not believe that you MUST buy the most expensive equipment in order to be effective and have fun. This spotting scope was on sale, decent price andhad some decent reviews with a few cons nestled into reviews. I have nothing negative to say about the shipping, the packaging or the returm Optics Planet has been great.
The spotting scope works as far as the magnification and the focus are concerned, at least in the yard. The issue was the reticle focus. I had seen some negative comments about this, stating that the reticle focus did not stay where it was set, but instead crept back to its lowest setting. That is what I experienced. No matter how much I worked the controls, the reticle focus would not stay where I needed it to be. It always, rather quickly returned to its lower limit. This is deal breaker.
I gave it 2 stars, which is is very generous, wheras it probably should rate 1 star. This is NOT an optics Planet issue, but rather a Bushnell quality control issue. This seems to happen pretty frequently on the forums.

Keep Looking ... This is not it.
I expected more from this scope. The glass is ok but not great. The adjustments are spongy and are had to set into the right place. Overall it is usable but there is much better out there for the price.
It is not good at focusing in using higher magnification. It is better as a low magnification spotter on 15 power. Focus become spotty past 20x and is hard to dial in. Reticle is ok but it is hard to tell the difference from full number hash marks and the .5. The hashmarks have no numbers so you have to count down the marks. This only matters when time is important because it will slow you down. I might just be spoiled by the better style reticles out there these days. The old style mil hash marks don't good anymore based on the better styles out there.
The cover that it comes with is garbage and had to be replaced with an after market case. It peeled open like a zippered banana and was always in the way.
After having it for about about two years the focus controls stopped working and it would no longer focus. Bushnell is connected to many other brands and I am not sure who owns who. The customer service was disorganized and ineffective. They don't do repairs anymore so they just sent out new ones for the warranty. It has been 3 months and I still don't have it back.

Bushnell review
Fantastic glass. The reticle is great, if your wanting a budget option for a spotting scope with a reticle this things punches way outside its price range. It’s very lightweight, And the armor coating seems like it will protect it from abuse. I ve been using mine a month now and love it.

Top tier product for a decent price.
I was nervous to get this because of some of the negative reviews I read. I'm happy to report that everything works as advertised. With pretty good clarity. I can see impacts on steel out too 500 meters. I could actually see the copper .308 bullets flying through the air.
Would recommend: Yes
Skip it and buy a higher end
Only consolation is i did not buy it full price, good for 50 yds, does not focus well with 100 yds, valiidated and confirmed by 2 RSOs, i can see my groups better with my riflescope, sent it back, came back " with no issues, no work done" :L

Best Quality for the Price
I dare you to find a overall better spotter for this price. I did have a lower price in December 2017 when I bought mine, but it preforms very well...with one exception. After 3+ years of use the objective focus ring stopped working as it was intended to work. I can get it to focus, but the part that you grip to turn , has come unattached to the spotter itself. This means I must squeeze firmly in order to adjust the focus. I would love to send it in to have it repaired but I believe it's beyond it's warranty, and don't want to pay to fix that. I give it 4 stars because of this. Besides that...I LOVE IT!! very clear glass at varying distances, gets a bit fuzzy out around 800-100meters, but still able to see/read trace plenty well enough to spot rounds. The reticle is just a bonus for milling targets or for helping make shooter corrections. I would certainly buy this again, in fact, we bought some of these for work. Compare these to Leopold Golden Ring HD and you'll be surprised of how similar they are in quality, and for HALF the price! Don't think about it, just buy it, great glass for the price!
Pros:
- Mounts easily
- Clear glass & Reticle
- Protective coating and cover
- can be used with Badger Ordance Rail Mount
- Works with Badger Ordnance Aluminum Sniper Lightweight Integrator Combat Kit
- Good quality magnification
Cons:
- focus ring durability
Best Used for:
- Spotting at most distances
- Mounted on Tripod
Would recommend: Yes
Better than entry level spotting scope.
This is my second Bushnell Legend T-Series spotting scope for a reason. My needs were somewhere between a Leupold Mk4 spotting scope and a $99 spotting scope from Amazon. I wanted good glass, but wasn't in the position to pay what equates to the cost of a quality rifle for a spotting scope. Bushnell has good glass for their optics and this scope has smooth adjustment and M1913 rails to lasers or any other accessories you might want. It's size is also a huge plus, it's relatively compact and not that heavy.
When you add a solid bipod (Hog Saddle) this is a solid spotting platform. My only hope is they later release one with greater magnification. Other than that this is a great spotting scope.

Good bang for the buck
First off, don’t bother turning the mag above 35x or so, as clarity fails. This is to be expected in a spotter in this price range. That being said, I can make out 22lr impacts on steel at 500yds in good conditions. Centerfire impacts, no problem. I haven’t taken it further as of yet. This tactical spotter fill a much needed position in this price range for a reticle equipped piece. Personally I’d rather see it be a 10-30x but it’s not. It comes with a decent, live-in case and caps. The build quality seems sturdy and durable and the pic rails are handy for mounting accessories and a a small red dot for fast target acquisition There is a lot going on in the power/focus control area, but you get used to it. I’d buy it again for the sale price. Eventually I will get something with better glass but I’ll be shelling out a lot more cash.
Pros:
- Good build quality, simple effective reticle, built in pic rails and live in case
Cons:
- Clarity suffers above 35x
Best Used for:
- Tactical spotting on a budget

Great Spotter
When you look at what else is aroind in terms of a quality mil ranging spotter, this one will truly stand alone. 45X is a bit out of focus but most magnifications up to 32x is very good. Spotting mirage for your wind calls should be no problem. The mil hash reticle is what makes this spotter in my opinion. To have a spotter call your misses with precise measurements, that's very important, especially if you have a high recoiling lightweight rifle. Very good spotter that you nust can't beat for the price!
Pros:
- Mil Hash Reticle
Cons:
- Blurry at higher magnification
Best Used for:
- PRS, Tactical Shooting, Long Range 1000yd Steel Shooting
Would recommend: Yes

Best out there for the money
The glass is great. Having a dedicated reticle focus is a nice touch. I did have a small flaw in the reticle. It was a break that was so small it wouldn’t have impeded function in the least bit. It was more of an annoyance than anything. As always the good folks at bushnell took care of me and sent a new one. The bottom line is that for the money, you won’t find a more feature packed spotter with a reticle.
Pros:
- Price
- good glass
- feature rich
Cons:
- Small flaw in reticle
Best Used for:
- hunting
- long range shooting
- Spotting
