The best way to keep the uses of the sling mount, add a Picatinny rail and a qd mount to your stock. Fits perfectly. I Have several on different stock and had 1 screw back out so use some thread lock.

I purchased this rail for a McMillan Game Hunter stock with double sling studs on the front. The SRS rail was a perfect fit and the nice thing is it still allows me a place to attach my sling on the front end of the rifle.

Product Info for Seekins Precision SRS Rail
The Seekins Precision SRS Rail provides a prime Picatinny rail mounting point. These Picatinny Rails by the experts at Seekins Precision feature a reinforced, non-rotating sling attachment point on the bottom of bolt action rifle stocks for mounting bipods that use the Picatinny system. Installation could not be easier; just use the existing holes in the bottom of the stock with the provided mounting screws! If your stock has only one sling stud, another can be easily installed using any T-nut found at most hardware stores. The Seekins Precision SRS Rail is CNC machined from billet 6061-T6 aluminum and Type III Class 2 Hardcoat Anodized matte black so you know it will stand up to the test of time and serve you excellently.
