The barrel and the receiver will need to be matched. M4 feed ramps extend the feed ramp into the receiver. The benefit is that reliability can be improved with longer length ammo.

It's a reasonably well made upper receiver that I plan to use with a rifle gas system, so lack of M4 cuts is not an issue, but if someone wants it to have M4 cuts then need a different upper.
Very Good upper with old school A2 style handle. Great for anyone looking to do a retro Colt style build. The black anodized finish looked good and match my Ruger lower almost perfectly. Plenty of home for your fingers in the handle. Price was better...
