satisfied purchase

I liked this optic. I paid an extra $10 for the multi-light, which probably wasn't worth it. The lens cap on the rear doesn't have much room to stay on due to the buttons for the illumination. I also had to buy 1 inch risers to get it above my fixed iron sights, the ones supplied were not tall enough. The optic itself I am well satisfied with for the price. I was able to get it for under $100. It does give kind of a fish bowl look around 7-9 power though. I went with this over the Barska 1-4x Swap scope. After viewing the Barska in person at Walmart I'm glad I went with the UTG. Much better quality!...

Overall, the scope is adequate for predator hunting/home defense where pinpoint accuracy may not be the biggest issue, but you are sacrificing quality and accuracy for the low cost illuminated reticule. The scope would not be good for accurate target shooting. The illuminated reticule and $100 price is the scopes strong features, with many good user reviews on the RGB model. Before I would buy it again I would have to reexamine the quality/features/price of illuminated reticule scopes.
Pros: PRO 1: The illuminated reticule is great, especially in the standard green and red modes. The illuminated reticule is the best feature of the scope. PRO 2: Size/Weight, being only 9” long and about 14oz is a perfect fit and looks great on an AR15.
Cons: CON 1: The zoom ring has an issue where there is a little slack at each end of the zoom range and very slight movement of the zoom ring moves the center of the crosshair approximately 1/8” right at 10 yards, and about 1” or more right at 100 yards. Also, moving the zoom from 3X to 9X seems to have a slow arc where the crosshair center goes from being centered at 3X, slightly arcing to about 1/2” right of center at 50 yards and coming back on center at 100 yards. Both these issues were only noticed because I have a red-dot laser which makes the crosshair movement rather obvious. Without the red-dot laser you would never notice these issues. CON 2: Adjustable parallax makes it hard to focus quickly for shots at varying distances, esp...

Very Nice Scope

by Legacy Reviewer, from United States, WA Written on May 1, 2013
Very nice scope, have not shot but like it over my NcStar compact 3-9. Like the lighting in the reticule and love the adjustability.
Pros: Compact, good height, low weight. Very easy to use and intuitive
Cons: Lens caps are a little funky and are solid.. Would like windowed caps....
