ATF Approval & Processing
How long does the ATF take to approve the purchase?
- Approval times vary and are determined solely by the ATF. Silencer Central will provide routine updates on the status of your ATF approval.
- You can also view current approval times by visiting NFA Status.
What happens if I am not approved by the ATF for my purchase?
- Although exceedingly rare, if your application is denied, Silencer Central will provide information regarding the next steps and the available options based on your situation.
What happens after I am approved for my purchase?
- Once all federal and state requirements have been satisfied and approval is received, Silencer Central will prepare your suppressor for shipment to your approved address.
What documents should I keep after approval?
- You should retain copies of your approved tax stamp and all ATF approval documents for your personal records.
